I could have got an E91. But, my goal was to keep the e46 wagon and swap an engine with more power. I love the body style and the way it looks. Initially I looked into swapping a LSX or S54 but eventually picked the N54 since you can make more power for less money. And I believe N54 platform could be almost legendary as a 2JZ.
Furthermore, I'm hoping to document the swap so it would be helpful for someone else who is looking to do a similar swap. Learn from my mistakes. Click here to enlarge

N54 engine is in the E46 engine bay. I may have to do few custom modifications in the engine bay. just a few issues, nothing major.

This is wild, I still remember the first time someone attempted an n54 e46.

The e90 dash fits ok'ish on a narrow E36 so I would assume it will be pretty happy on the E46 Click here to enlarge

Might want to look into this to get the power down Click here to enlarge

Don't post the same thing over and over. Duplicates will be removed but I noticed you linked to different vids so I'll leave it.

    Be interesting, not repetitive.

@JDUTHIE, Tnx for the link. I did some test fits when I took the interior it fits into E46. just need to figure out the heater core and hvac controls. And doing some research on the steering column, if keeping th e46 or swapping over the e90. because the e90 sits few inches to the right.

I got a set of rear sub reinforcement plates and waiting on VINCE BAR reinforcement kit to arrive as well. I hope this will fix the rear end issues. My plan is to swap the rear end from an e46 M3. so actively looking for one for the right price. hopefully ill get to reinforcing the sub frame within couple of weeks.

Took the interior off of the E90. Got the wiring harness out and labeled, I got to thin out the harness by removing unwanted stuff and swapping it over to the E46 body. It is quite time incentive to take it apart and document. The harness and everything looks intimidating. The dream of swapping E90 interior into E46 may be a little far fetched. But, hey at least others don't have to guess if its possible or not. I'm still rooting to swap the front interior and try to make it look stock. fingers crossed.

Finally I was able to jump back on to the E46 and build instead of taking things off.

Got around to install the VinceBar rear reinforcement kit.
I hope the E46 wagon rear end is able to handle up to 1000whp with both
reinforcement plates and Vinces bar installed. I'm not planning to gain that much hp. my goal is to get 400hp and around same amount of torque.

check out the install video on youtube.

Started working on a budget Big Brake Kit setup, its taking some time due to R&D.in the mean time replaced the CSB (center support bearing) on the m3 drive shaft

make sure to mark a line on both sides of the driveshaft to make it easier to put it back together. the driveshaft is balanced from factory. It is important to keep the orientation as it is. Use a 18mm wrench and a prybar or a big flat head for leverage and remove the inner bolt.
