World's fastest 8V RS3 - Iroz sets the aluminum 2.5 TFSI record at 9.019@157.01 in the 1/4 mile

Remember when a couple months back AudiBoost posted an article that 8's were coming for the new 2.5 TFSI? Well, we were just slightly premature. The best pass to date in the 1/4 mile for an 8V Audi RS3 sedan or otherwise is 9.019 @ 157.01.

Just a couple hundreds off for an 8-second pass but rest assured it is coming. The RS3 and TT-RS have essentially become the Nissan GT-R's of the German tuning world. You can even argue the platform has advantages in weight and fueling.

    It's a damn impressive platform:

This record was set at Sacramento and Iroz rented the strip out. At this point, a bit of cooler California weather and they will have that first 8.

The car of course features a built motor, upgraded LPFP, upgraded port injectors, proprietary clutches, and an IMS850 Xona Rotor turbo setup.

It will be interesting to see what else gets the motor. The RS Q3 is a given.
