    So Close (timeslip)

Hit the drag strip since we've had our weather cool down into the 80's. Flashed over to the 93 map on the Cobb. Trying to get those 10's. Only got two runs in where I was able to hook. The rest was simply sitting at the stage lights spinning on every run.

Best time of 11.06 @ 127.8 mph. There's a 10.9 in this car if it can just find a hair more grip.

    Other cars notable times:

CZ Zr1, spinning, crap driver. 12's over and over

GTR, lightweight wheels, lowered, slicks. Unknown power mods: 11.2

Cobb. Usually 91 map but 93 for these runs

    Fabspeed Headers (coated)
    Fabspeed Bypass pipes (coated)
    BMC filter.

    AMS intercoolers not installed yet.

I'm actually pretty certain that there's 10 seconds in this car in 60 degree weather.. I was running in the 80's and by the time I got home it was in the low 70's. Car pulled so much harder on the ride home while it was 10+ degrees cooler outside.

I'll try again in the 60's/50's come winter time. If I keep pulling 1.7 60ft's, 10.9 easily doable.

Yup, if you can get a 1.70 60', you're in the 10s. And 70deg weather would help

Had never been to a dragstip because we don't have one here, just wonder how the ground grips differently from a well-built tarmac road, does it have rougher surface, stickier paint, or it's just the same as the road?

It's usually stickier but it all comes down to track prep and how well they do it. My local track is notoriously slow. Roughly .2-.3 seconds slower than one that used to be open several years ago.

Usually you want to be one of the first ones there because its at it's freshest. As more and more cars go down, it begins to get more and more slick... There's also a water pit at the beginning edge of the track that a bunch of people drive through and bring trails of water onto the strip..

At my track there are a bunch of dragster guys and lots of ricers who have no idea what they're doing. It sees heavy use.

Over the years running dozens of cars I've noticed that usually your best times/runs are your first-third tries.
