500+ horsepower E89 Z4 with Vargas turbo safe?

    Hi Friends

I'm new here and I'm very excited to read your engine improvement :-)

I've a wonderfull Z4 E89 with a N54 engine, i wish to push it at 510 Hp, with a Vargas twin turbo Kit.

In your opinion, how the engine is robust ? How many HP is possible to have without internal new part (i.e. pistons, crankshaft, connecting rods)

I moved your post to its own thread. Stop spamming your post across multiple threads that aren't on the topic. It's rude and annoying.

As far as answering your question, yes, you'll be fine with 500 horsepower.

If it can be done on stock turbos it would be of ease on upgraded twins

In terms of the block. 550whp should be no problem at all.
    Best:11.79@119mph on stock turbos.
    11.74@129 on GCs.

Stage 2's on good quality pump gas will land you near 500 whp, probably a little shy (octane limited) on a reasonable daily driver type tune. Add meth or a light ethanol blend and you'll easily be over 500 whp.

Thank's to all for yours prompt answers

But i've a dubt about upgrade engine: last week I've change the exhaust system (I've used a special custom made for Z4, 200cells catalyst and custom silencer without dBkiller), and my baby has lost some power on low RPM, if I want to enjoy my driving I need to downshift. My next step wil be using a downpipes catless.

In your opinion, is it possible (to flash ECU with a custom map) to reduce turbolag and have more power on lower RPM as the original exhaust ?

And also, with Stage 2 Vargas Turbo, can I've more power on lower RPM ?

Something with the installation went wrong if you've lost power. Unlike naturally aspirated motors, backpressure in the downpipe/exhaust isnt an issue for turbo engines, since the turbo IS the backpressure. You should check for engine codes and i wouldnt be suprised if you accidentally swapped the oxygen sensors between engine banks, which can lead to poor performance.

I can't moved O2 sensors because now I've the original downpipes.

But if backpressure insn't an issues for N54, why the original exhaust has a right valve with a secondary small diameter out tube ?

You should really try searching instead of asking to be spoon fed. This platform is now 12 years old, plenty of info out there. Secondly, go contact some of the vendors and talk with them directly.

Apparently 570 on pump 93? Seems a bit hard to believe as I have seen 6266 on 93 do about the same and a 6266 should have more top end...But no one ever seems to make the power the shops cars do.

    490whp or is it 570whp

a neg rep for posting a link to a dyno which spells out EXACTLY what the OP is looking for and is asking about? It also spells out the exact mods to car had to hit the OP's own stated goal using that brand of product.

    lawls

The OP needs to spend 1 hour searching and he will have all the answers to his questions. Or just call up VTT and save yourself an hour of your life.

    Thank's all

    Good advise.

I've another questions about my baby: I'm still remap the ECU, and some technician has told me about scavenging, in your opinion is it possible to have it ? the N54 engine have a variable phase system managed by ECU ...

Is it dangerous for engine ?

    Thank's so much !!

    So under 490whp or 570? https://www.bimmerboost.com/content....-dyno-results/

There is a 80whp delta and the 570whp was on an automatic...Or are you saying 500whp on 91? Just curious as 570whp is ST pump gas numbers iirc

Stage 2's are a completely different turbo as compared to the GC's you linked to. The GC's will make much more power on pump or ethanol and are not comparable to a Stage 2 (or even 2+) offering.

I just assumed you meant gc do you still sell stage 2s?

570 is very impressive for pump.

scavenging means an optimization of open angle for in/out valve to maximize air flow from intake to exhaust directly
