    991.2 GTS build.

I figured I'd go ahead and make my own thread.

I have a 2017 911 GTS. Just had my Fabspeed headers and bypass pipes coated, will be installed in a few days along with a BMC filter.

Currently awaiting a Cobb tune once that releases shortly.

My plan is to see how far I can take these GTS turbos and if I feel the need for more I will upgrade to Sticky's kit.

To those with the IPD plenum, how did you fare as far as fitment? I have read that these are for the Turbo S but work on the 9A2 with some rubbing. Debating whether or not to scoop one up since I will be installing the air filter already.

I will be updating this thread as I go along. Hopefully with data and #'s.

Bone stock it ran 11.5 @ 121 and reached a top speed of 196.

    You haven't tuned yet?

I would pay money to run side by side to show the difference. Where are you located?

It's a similar design to the Turbo S but not quite the same thing. It accomplishes the same goal which is to improve the angle of the air coming in. The factory piece sucks.

    No rubbing.

The install is more complicated than you think but I felt a slight difference. It gives you a nice mid-range boost. If you can do it, do it.

No tune, bone stock right now. I'm located in Phoenix AZ unfortunately. I would totally be down to shoot videos to see a comparison side by side.

Slips are in my glove box. I had minimal spin/hop off the line.

I really really regret not doing PPF.. I am an aggressive driver and my front bumper is jacked up. Not even 4K miles lol.

194MPH is insane man! OK I misread it as the passing speed quarter mile, 196kph/121mph is more like it. Should I have waited an year until GTS is on the market, I wouldn't have bought the C2S, the GTS is a much better choice for what it's worth.

Why? Because of a little more lag and and a little more boost?

Hell, I think the S is the best buy (actually the T) because of the LSD.

The cars are priced differently as well as option prices in my country, and GTS came up a lot better stardard equipment(PSE, SC,Center lock wheels and the body & trim etc.). I needed to pay a lot more on the S just to have those options a year back. It is better value for money it was what I mean.

GTS for dat ass, resale value, and centerlock wheel master race.

If you don't plan on upgrading turbos or modding in general GTS is the way to go.

The difference between base/s to GTS is big and noticeable in terms of power/torque. Doesn't fall on its face when reaching triple digit speeds... Just my experience.

If you're gonna mod your car out I'd go for the Carrera T.

Why even bother with headers at this stage?

Hmm why is everyone in Arizona?

At least if I make it out there maybe we could include your C2 in a comparison as well?

I have no work done to it yet, just parts. I don't really know who to take the car to or who to trust for work.. I'm weird and have trust issues with shops. Just so many bad experiences and witnessed bad things growing up in the tuning world. Nobody is gonna joy ride my car at my expense.. Let alone marinate in my seat lol

Probably going to take it to some mom and pop shop that was referred to me by a trustworthy Mercedes shop.

Sticky, PM me if you ever come down here. I have a very busy schedule but willing to set a time to meet up.

    I will.

The main thing for me is to show beyond numbers how the turbos and tuning perform vs. what Porsche gives you.

Nothing is more eye opening for some of these old guys set in their ways than seeing their S/GTS get bus lengths pulled on it by a Carrera.

Thanks guys. I just need to pick up a trailer. I don't mind the drive I mostly mind putting the miles the car plus making sure the meth lasts.

I run a local Porsche enthusiast fb group.

    https://m.facebook.com/groups/180929515890311

join the group and ask for reviews. I’ll PM you who I used for my stuff. Similar mods to what you have. Best Porsche shop in the valley imo. They’ve built tons of high hp Porsche’s.

Yeah please PM me that info for sure, I'm new to this level of car so I'm out in the dark on things.

I don't have facebook unfortunately, I may have to make one though!

If I wake up early enough I go out to cars n coffee.. Pavs here and there but its gotten sketchy over the years. You're essentially straight piped, you drone on the highway?
