    N62B48 Rebuilt

    Hello everyone,

My Name is Kevin and i am from Germany, so I Apologize for my Bad english.

I currently im rebuildung my n62b48 and want to Share it with you.

Today i started with the torn down and test mounting the S65 headers.

I will drill new holes in the Head so I dont have to weld the headers. I had to cut the parts on the Heads where the ident number is on.

    Everything Else lines up perfekt.

I have to fabricate new Motor mounts. Pics to be come.

Interesting. I'm surprised nobody else tried this before.

I did a ton of research and the only pics i found were a testfitting on a m62.

I looked at the S65 and decided to give it a try, because i got the headers for 150 Euro on eBay.

The car where the engine will ne comming in is a 645i so the next deal was the plenum, which also lines up perfekt.

Today i purchased a used starter to Check the clearance betwen starter and header and if that will Line up, the only Thing to do will be the motor mounts.

I will use 3 exhaust seals to get more room to the plastic valve cover and its sealing

@Sticky I can't click the image to have it enlarged. Is it attached wrong or is this browser not working correctly?

Today i took Care about the heads.

I drilled the missing holes and thread so that the headers can be bolted directly on.

In order to get much room as possible for a heatshield I removed some more of the material from the heads.

I started with some porting but i Need new fresh milling Tools.

Took the valves out of the heads and started cleaning and polishing them.

Clearence betwen starter and headers will be ok with 3 layers of gasket.

Started porting / dimpling the heads. Approx about 12 hours per Head xD
