    • Ferrari 488 GTB vs. Lamborghini Huracan on the dragstrip

As you likely saw the Ferrari 488 GTB is outclassed by the McLaren 720S when it comes to acceleration. What isn't? The thing is the Ferrari 488 GTB is not as quick or fast as we were led to believe and Ferrari definitely is portraying the performance in a way that is not realistic.

The Lamborghini Huracan is a better matchup for the 488 GTB which is interesting considering the Lamborghini does not have the benefit of forced induction. It is just 5.2 liters and ten cylinders of high revs and 610 naturally breathing Italian horses.

The weight difference between the two is closer than the video states but Ferrari goes out of their way to prevent people knowing what their cars really weigh. The difference between the two is probably ~100 pounds in real life and not in a magazine.

They run three times. In the first run, the 488 gets a jump but the Huracan surprisingly runs its down. It is both quicker and faster:

The second run is more of the same although the 488 technically wins the race:

In the final run the Huracan is not caught sleeping at the light and just demolishes the 488:

Props to Lamborghini for doing what they do without turbos and that is the reason why when you add turbos to the Huracan, this becomes embarrassingly one-sided.

The 488 GTB just is not fast in today's performance climate.

Check out this Australian 488 running 10.4's and I think even a 10.2 or 10.3. Can't comment on if it's tuned or not.
