    • 1200+ whp capable N54 twin top mount turbo kit/manifold from Vi Engineered

      Well, here is something BimmerBoost has not seen yet in the N54 turbo kit game. This is a custom Vi Engineered manifold design which fits two large top mount turbochargers as you can see. Most all N54 top mount manifolds except for this one have been single turbo designs obviously due to space constraints.


      This seems to be early in the design process but it certainly is intriguing and it is awesome to see this approach.

      Hopefully we get more details soon along with the turbos supported and seeing this setup mounted in a 135i or 335i.

        Have a feeling that whatever vehicle this goes into, will also get stuck in the low 10's @ 13X mph range ... lol

        I can't think of another platform that has yet to get into the 9's... It would be a shame if they lost the title!

        Lots of bends and turbulence due to them - but I honestly don't see another easier or creative way to route Chargepipes for this setup given the space on that side of the engine. I'm sure it's going to have other issues and constraints, but nonetheless interesting project and lots of time and thought even to this point has gone into this one. Cool pics!

        Might as well went s55 style with a proper A/W setup.

        Great concept and this could be the foundation for making a high powered twin kit. Just have a feeling it is going to get further and further convoluted as things progress.

        There is a reason why the cp-e atmosphere kit has never really got lifted (or been very slow to progress), this platform is just absolutely horrible for fitting anything full twin kit related nicely no matter how hard you try.

        We do agree with Payam, the intercooler hot side tank design looks a bit off. We would recommend trying to clock the compressor housings the other direction (if at all possible) and plumbing them into the IC in the typical fashion.

        Well the E9X M3 but that's because it's stuck on the stock block/stock internals essentially as building doesn't offer much of an advantage if any. So you have dozens of ~600 whp cars in the 10's.

        but cars are making literally 100+ more hp than the cars that set the records, i think they just havent gotten the balls to take it to the strip yet. i know 1 such E85 s/c M3 is "planning" on hitting 9s in the fall, but time will tell. I was sure the guy with the Dodson built dct would do it, but they apparantly took 3 years to get the dt back to them so the car was sold before then.

        I don't think it's because people running higher power don't have the balls to take it to a strip. It's a power to weight factor. A 1500whp BMW will not go any faster than a 700whp BMW unless it can utilize the extra power efficiently. Putting the right amount of power down for the weight of the car and it's ability to transfer that weight correctly is the key. IMO

        Exactly why Terrys car at 600whp was destroying 60-130 times of cars in the 800+whp range.
