    • Why is the Ferrari 488 GTB not matching magazine times in the real world? Ferrari cheats

Ferrari cheats. Ferrari hides. Ferrari manipulates circumstances to their advantage. Would it really surprise anyone in the industry if Ferrari sent a ringer to MotorTrend for their Best Driver's Car and World's Greatest Drag Race comparisons?

Something is very wrong here. BoostAddict began researching 488 GTB 1/4 mile times from owners in the real world and although there are not many to go by nobody in the USA even gets close to what MotorTrend is getting out of the car.

For one, GPS equipment and actual NHRA approved timing equipment are different. The difference is not so large as to produce a variance of almost eight miles per hour of trap speed. That large of a spread is in reality a difference of over 100 horsepower.

The 488 GTB in the video below runs 11.1 @ 127.9. Yes, it is the heavier Spider but it should still easily be clearing 130 miles per hour of trap speed. It isn't.

Not to mention, real world videos show the McLaren 570S beating the 488 GTB head to head and the 570S has actual slips showing runs of 10.2 @ 135.

The simple explanation here is that Ferrari cheated and MotorTrend knowingly participated in this charade.

I'm working on one of this, very interesting to see this bc currently the car doesn't seem to be as crazy as it should be. It's very fast just not what I expected, maybe my expectations are just little to high... either way I'll make sure to share what we can get out of it, very curious about track times!

That 488 looks like it is on 22in wheels. Those certainly aren’t the stock wheels...are they?

Dyno was a very unsuccessful attempt, couldnt get one single clean pull the other day, I was tuning this on a mustang dyno trying to avoid stupid issues with the wheel speed and all that, so instead had the car spinning on the rollers, SMH.... Even with all the safeties off, some kind of logic stays on, but instead of cutting throttle was setting a ABS malfunction. I gave up after 3 hours of fighting with straps on this car that for starters has barely any room get strapped properly. We are gonna use a different wheel and tire setup and try again, currently on R888r's... Never had an issue like this before, so Im trying to come up with something.

Weird. I wonder how others are dyno'ing it?

There has to be a way, I refuse to believe is spinning bc "is too Fast" lol... Regardless is crazy how it happens, on a dyno yet like precision's I bet it wouldn't be an issue, but that one is not linked... I feel like the straps are not putting weight on the rollers, very hard to strap the damn thing down
