  • APR launches APR Plus tuning for VW MKVII Golf models which includes a 5 year 60,000 mile warranty

Are you one of those people who wants more out of their car but is worried something might go wrong and the dealer will void the warranty? APR Plus may be exactly what you are looking for. This is a new program APR is launching with participating Volkswagen dealers.

The first dealer is Linden Volkswagen in New Jersey. Basically, you can buy any new MKVII Golf model and include the APR Plus tuning with it. You can even finance it into the purchase at the dealer!

Many no doubt will draw parallels between APR Plus and Dinan's tunes for BMW's but there is a difference. Dinan supplements with their own warranty meaning you have to go through Dinan for warranty claims whereas with APR Plus you can get your warranty processed at any VW dealer. This avoids messy warranty situations we have previously seen with Dinan.

You can go over the warranty booklet here: http://www.goaprplus.com/includes/do...ty_booklet.pdf

APR no doubt will roll out more participating dealers and APR Plus products based on how APR Plus is received. We have a feeling it will do well.

That's awesome. Any plans for doing this with Audi too?

Always possible! We're starting with the VW Golf lineup, and then going from there.

Good stuff. And I definitely think there's an opportunity for Audi with the hole Stasis left.

      Best of luck!

This is really cool, basically like what Dinan offers for BMW.

The website above says that you can go from 292hp to 320hp "for less than 40$ per month (assuming a 60 month financing)" or +28hp for about $2,340 ($39 * 60)

If you were okay to go with an normal tune without the warranty protection then.....

      https://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_u...en3_mqb_r.html

The most basic stage-1 low torque tune from APR can go from 292hp to 357hp or +65hp for $799

It's more than our regular stage 1 ECU upgrade because you're paying for the limited powertrain warranty with roadside assistance. The pricing is ultimately up to the dealer and how you roll it into your new car purchase. The website only gives a rough guide based on financing with a "worst case" type of scenario.

What he said. If you want more power obviously APR has plenty of options. If you want the warranty to go with it, you need to stick with APR Plus.

Nobody is going to warranty a big turbo upgrade with an engine build.

It will be interesting to see how much hp/tq can be obtained from a full bolt on car with APR Plus....
