    • Porsche shaving weight off the 2021 992 Turbo S with Lightweight Package option - Rear seat delete, less sound deadning

It seems Porsche is aware the 992 Turbo S gained some weight and they are going to do something very cool in offering a Lightweight Package sometime this year. The package is expected to drop roughly 65 pounds or so from the curb weight.

That means 3571 pounds. Still heavy but a lightweight battery, lighter seats, lighter wheels, and maybe 33XX pounds will be achievable.

Porsche is taking a similar approach to the Carrera T with a rear seat delete, thinner glass, and less sound deadening. Apparently a lighter sport exhaust is included as well.

This lightweight package is of course exclusive to coupe models.

Very cool. I'm surprised they don't offer light seats and battery given all those already live in their parts catalog. 3,3xx is a great target for a street car with all the modem creature comforts.

I'm not 100% sure on the package details but these might be GT3 style lightweight carbon buckets. If so, hard to save more weight there but we don't have the full details yet.

They could offer a lightweight battery and carbon fiber wheels though. Add PCCB's in and this thing is getting where it needs to be.
