    • Aston Martin Vantage laps the Nurburgring in 7:43.92

There was a time when a 7:43.92 would be lauded. That was a long time ago. We do not expect Aston Martin to be on the ragged edge of performance but for context the AMG GT S is said to do a comfortable 7:35. So why is the Aston Martin almost 10-seconds off?

The automatic transmission is slightly slower than the AMG GT S dual clutch, yes, but it's not a giant detracter. The 3769 pound curb weight is a bit higher. It seems the Aston is just heavier, softer, and more of a GT than the actual AMG GT.

This network puts an emphasis on performance so the Aston Martin Vantage is not exactly impressing in that respect. But it does not need to as the target market is for those who might feel an AMG GT is too rough.

Some photos and angles it looks awesome, others...meh. I don't like the mesh front end but the fact that the "vaned" one is a bit longer and less aggressive also doesn't have me in love.

Aston Martin never really had the best performance machines, they were more about style and cachet a la Bond : James Bond

I do like it in general but something about it looks like an Aston Martin body kit on a new ND Miata lol. Maybe the headlights?
It also looks way smaller than a normal Aston.
