    • F80 M3 with stock internal S55 running KRATOS KRAS55Bi turbos vs. ~900 horsepower Nissan GT-R roll race

The strongest turbochargers on the S55 platform? That would be the offering from KRATOS. The KRAS55Bi turbos are enough to go well over 1000 horsepower at the wheels providing the motor is built to handle it.

This motor is not built. You still can hit some major peak figures on a properly tuned stock internal S55 motor with these turbos.

So just how quick is a stock internal example tuned to roughly 750 horsepower? Quick enough to pull this ~900 horsepower Nissan GT-R.

The M3 has two major advantages that play in here. One that it is lighter and also that rear wheel drive is more efficient from a roll. M3's are becoming very fast cars.

Better transmission with more gears for strong acceleration...possibly more revs for the M too. Nice run!

Chrome and Explorer on my laptop, got it to work on my iphone tho Click here to enlarge. Curious on the mods on the GTR, seemed to fall on its face on the top end like the stock turbos do.

Oh wow, m3 is soooo much better than a GTR. No comparison, no way a GTR should even be mentioned in the same sentence as an m3

Why not upgrade to Edge? Works there. I'm not even going to bother with tweaking for IE I think. Waste of time and money.

To be honest, GTR's are way overrated.

LMAO, cause going 6's in a car that has 250k in it minimum is impressive? Fox body mustangs run 5's, so that means it's a better car?

GTR’s are awesome cars, but the trans doesn’t hold up well to mods. The F80 definitely has the advantage there. That being said, the GTR doesn’t have a dumbass crank hub that spins itself apart while driving. I swear to god, every car seems to have some kind of Death Star ventilation shaft vulnerability that causes catastrophic destruction when it $#@!s the bed.

Fox body mustang seems right up your alley, go for it. Maybe you can install a jb17 on it, it might run 9s like the rest of your fantastic M stuff

Been beaten by enough GTR's with my mid 700 whp e46 m3 to know they're not overrated haha. Hoping to buy one in the near future.

You'd be surprised at the performance jump your E46 would take with a DCT though. You're at 3400 pounds revving to 8k. The platform is potent just held back by some old technology.

GTR's are cool but I agree they are kinda over rated. They used to be the affordable supercar killer and monster tuner car but really anything over mild bolt ons where you start to risk the stock tranny is not worth it to me.

The new 991.2's and older Turbo's are much much more appealing to me and the drive train can take a beating stock.

Also, new GTR's price keeps creeping up. In 2008 they were a deal at $69k but now $113k base or $210k for a Nismo!
