    • Heffner Performance and Fountain Race Engines develop billet Audi/Lamborghini 5.2 liter V10 engine block

Here is yet another billet engine block option for the Audi/Lamborghini 5.2 liter V10 and it is from Heffner Performance in association with Fountain Race Engines. For those wondering, Fountain Race Engines is well known in the offshore powerboat racing scene.

Why a billet 5.2 V10 block? Because there are some insanely powerful Audi R8, Lamborghini Gallardo, and Lamborghini Huracan builds out there.

      Heffner explains the design here:

Over the past several years we have identified several deficiencies within the OEM 5.2 liter V10 engine block when being used in extremely high horsepower applications. These deficiencies can lead to premature bearing failure, excessive piston and ring wear, head gasket failure and ultimately failure of the engine block.

In conjunction with @fountainraceengines Fountain Race Engines, we develop and produce a block that will solve these issues and expand the possibilities for vehicles powered by the 5.2 liter V10.

Our billet aluminum 5.2 liter engine block boasts improved oiling and cooling systems, increased deck surface thickness, redesigned cylinder liners, a more rigid main cap girdle, upgraded main cap hardware as well as structural improvements throughout the entire engine block.
Pricing? Good question, not stated. It certainly is good to have multiple billet block options on the market though for the platform.

I'm hoping it's just a matter of time before the S65 gets a billet option.

While that would be sweet just not sure anyone is putting the R&D effort into it. This 5.2L V10 is used in all the big high $$$$$$ builds in R8/Gallardo/Huracan so the market is there.
The GTR has a billet block because there are tons of people pushing the platform to the limit and there are plenty of people lined up to spend huge money on a GTR build.

Subarus and Evos and Hondas have billet blocks because there are millions of those cars out there and tons of people blow their motors who might upgrade to billet eventually.

Unfortunately you are basically the only person who ever really pushed the S65.

I know. I'd be one of two to three people which is why it isn't happening any time soon.
