      Yep, what you are seeing is a block with a hole torn in it thanks to a rod giving way and material flying out the side. It happens. This tuner originally said 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) would be fine but now they feel ~800 Nm (590-600 lb-ft) is a safer bet on a factory motor.


      This motor lasted 25k miles and of course how it was tuned and how it was used are major factors. Not to mention the fuel quality.

      There certainly are variables but for peace of mind if pushing big numbers upgrading the rods past 600 lb-ft is a wise move for reliability:

        I'm pretty sure you can do this on stock turbos with E85
