    • Xtreme-DI high flow N55 direct injection injectors coming soon

You may have noticed Xtreme-DI releasing larger direct injection injectors for other platforms. Well, BMW N55 fans do not need to feel left out as Xtreme-DI has larger high flow injectors in development for the N55 platform.

How soon? Well, BimmerBoost does not know exactly other than they are coming:

This is great news for those who want to increase the capacity of the direct injection fuel system.

Does this help with stock hpfp? and how could it help with their XDI 60 pump?

I don't think you run into an injector limit with the stock pump? Do you?

Is the N55 a piezo injector or no?

For BMW, I recall only the N54 being Piezo electric DI. All the rest are solenoid.

I believe I have read some of the Porsche Turbo and Turbo S designated engines employ piezo electric injectors. Perhaps someone more familiar can clarify for us?

No but the N54 is which is why it is taking longer.

Actually turns out N55 had piezo too:

Late n55 is solenoid, what we work onEarly n55 and n54 are piezo
Not sure yet if i can modify piezo injectors
These are super sensitive, that helix drive 3600psi, injector killer
        Also, more details:

        No gains with oem pump
Gains with hpfp35 when spinning higher rpm
        Full potential with hpfp60
I'll have some N54 related details to share soon.
