    • B9 Audi S4/S5 and RS4/RS5 real ecu tuning to commence? Bosch MG1 ECU cracked

Big, big news in the Audi sector (and about time!) along with other manufacturers using the Bosch MG1 engine control unit. As you know piggyback tuning dominated the EA839 V6 engine platform in the Audi B9 S4, S5, RS4, and RS5 up until now.

Well, good news. A company in Belgium called ShifTech engineering claims the ECU is cracked:

These computers had a protection that prevented us from reprogramming them. We are now able to offer it to you.

      Here are some examples :
      - VW: 1.5 TDI, 2.0 TSI, 3.0 TDI
      - Audi: S4 / S5 (3.0T and 3.0TDI), RS4 / RS5 (2.9T) and the latest 3.0 TDI
      - Skoda: 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TSI (180, 190 and 220hp)
      - Seat: 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TDI (180, 190 and 220hp)
      - Porsche: 911 992 3.0T 450hp
      - Mercedes: 1.5d, 1.6d, 2.0d, 3.0d and 3.0t
      - BMW: all the recent range
This is a bigger deal than just Audi as you can see other makes utilize this ECU. This is big news for the Porsche 992 as well.

Expect this crack to spread through the industry as usual with all the big players announcing tunes as quick as they possibly can.

Here's to tuning and innovation! How long we will be able to keep cracking ECU's will increasingly be a big factor in the aftermarket.

        So the 700hp+ "capable" B9 S4 can actually be a 700hp+ B9 S4?

The Supra support was available even before the car was released in the States
