    • Houzworkz RHD (right hand drive) BMW N54 + N55 single turbo kit based on Motiv manifold

Single turbo kits for BMW N54 and N55 motors are a bit easier to come by for LHD (left hand drive) variants than RHD (right hand drive). Australian BimmerBoost user @martymil helped develop this Houzworkz Garrett based single turbo kit for RHD N54 and N55 owners.

      Kit Includes:

      • Motiv n54 / n55 RHD manifold with custom hot side pipe
      • Custom Turbo manifold heat shield (optional ceramic coating)
      • Garrett GTX3076R Gen2, GTX3576R Gen2 or Garret GTX3584RS with modified compressor housing
      • 3 inch dump pipe to standard exhaust connection
      • 3 inch inlet with dry filter
      • Custom turbo to IC pipe
      • Tial MVR or Turbosmart Hypergate 45mm Wastegate.
      • Chromoly Engine Mount Relocation Kit with custom comfort mount (45A)
      • Turbo scavenge tank with VDO pump oil return
      • Oil check valve
      • PTFE lines and Speedflow dash fittings
      • Custom RHD block-offs
      • Custom RHD water coolant relocation
      • All silicon joiners and constant pressure Turbosmart clamps
      • Ceramic coating (optional)
      • Motiv Boostbox (optional)
      • Mac Solenoid (optional)
      • 800 to 1800hp monster IC kit (optional)
      • Custom VTA catch can system (optional)
      • Plazmaman FF manifold (optional)
      • Custom IC to TB up pipe (optional)
      • Turbosmart Big Bubba DV or Raceport BOV (optional)

This kit has been extensively tested for the last two years covering over 20,000 miles (32000km) through unforgiving, hot Australia summers and short but cold winters.

Add 20 to 25% to convert from Dyno Dynamics to Dynojet power figure so conservatively around 763 whp.

This is on a stock freak motor and transmission that has managed to survive the shear abuse and torture of our environment and testing.

We have seen higher numbers but the transmission was not happy at over 28psi.

Boost was limited even though the GTX 3584rs Turbo is 35psi+ capable

If this had a manual transmission with a twin plate and a built motor you will see in excess of 500 rwk+

I've seen 494rwk but it was misbehaving badly and that was at 5500rpm.

Why the turbo scavenge tank and VDO pump return? Something unique to the RHD set-up or an issue that needed to be addressed?

the turbo drain is way below sump oil level because of rhd steering rack

As this is for the N54 or N55 prefix changed to general.

Going to edit the first post for formatting, add an intro, and promote to front page.

Sounds great and yes the correct price, extensive modifications to the kit had to be made and a few extra expensive parts had to be fully custom made to make it fit RHD.

I think its quite reasonable for the amount of hrs, revisions and testing involved to make this kit work properly.

Its not something that was slapped together one weekend over a couple of slabs of beer.

Ye I do know the pain and process involved in making a right hand drive kit.. Built Mines in 2015 already and still going strong... However the pricing is steep... If you keen and want to check my build out

        Not interested in top mounts.

His kit is total stealth and if he wanted to by running a turbo guard you can't even tell he has a monster turbo or any turbo in fact.

The whole idea behind the kit is to fly under the radar without being taken notice off especially in Sydney with the over zealous constabulary trying to reach their weekly quotas and brownie points.

This kit can't be seen whilst making 460rwk on a totally stock motor and trans and more with a built engine, this is a total sleeper setup if you wish it to be and that's what this kit is aimed at and this comes at a price and a huge development cost and if you seen it mounted on a car you would see why as there is virtually mm's of clearance everywhere.

Also this kit will make more power everywhere over the top mount as the huge restriction by the steering rack on rhd and limited room for a proper dp, this kit has no restriction and has a 4 inch dump and a 4 inch exhaust with absolutely no back pressure and sounds amazing and totaly stock and doesn't draw any attention what so ever.

This kit will be making its way onto my 335i in the future and will be able to be driven by my wife to the shops and back and she wouldn't even know its been modified.

        Excellent point there.

Plus, you have to pay to play. What RHD competition is there really for this at the output levels?

There is no real vendor prior to this selling a rhd drive kit however there are plenty self made kits floating around both top mount and bottom mount.
As there where no kits around it forced both first world countries and developing ones like us to be creative and make our own.

Hi Sticky, thanks for editing and cleaning up the post details. I have developed this kit on my car closely with martymil and JD75.

Currently I have a version 2 kit bolted onto my car that is designed for 900-1000+ wheel horsepower (US dynos) with the 4inch exhaust fitted. This requires a full Monty built motor (underway shortly) and my Nizpro trans fitted to utilize the power potential.

We should have this kit tuned on my old motor with 98 (your 93) by V8Bait once my new Boostbox and MAC solenoid have arrived from Motiv. Tuning on 93 because we are doing this on the street and no traction is possible on E85, even with a V8 M3 diff behind my auto.
