    • M5 Light - RK-Tunes BMW G30 M550i tune picks up over 110 awhp and 130 awtq with catless N63TU2 downpipes

Do not sleep on the N63 motor in any iteration. Sure, the big brother S63 gets all the credit but the N63TU2 (and N63TU3) are a great BMW tuning value. Due to the smaller factory turbochargers plus the lack of twin scroll manifolds they will not reach the same heights but you can match and exceed stock F90 M5 output with some quality tuning and bolt ons on an N63TU2 or TU3.

Keep in mind this car has catless downpipes but look at the gains over stock:

It is just shy of 600 lb-ft of wheel torque at only 3000 rpm. This thing is going to move nicely off the line.

The newer N63's also hold power much better up top. Notice gains hold through the curve and although torque does fall a bit past 6000 rpm the tuned example has large gains over stock throughout the entire rev range.

It would be interesting to see this M550i go up against a stock F90 M5 or even an F10 M5.

Is the m550 lighter than the f10 m5? This is definitely a good sleeper.

Yes... It is, mainly it is due too the AWD vs RWD(M).
Traction.. I have the G30 m550i, briljant car to my opinion, but not a real racer, however damn fast and comfortable. And the car is way better balanced compared to the F chassis.

I will probably find a tune and some sport cats, which will add a bit more rumble and more aggresivness, however the overall experience with this car is amazing and I have driven enough M4s and M5s

        Weight should be a wash.

Honestly, I don't get what you're saying. How is it lighter? It's the same weight.

The balance is worse, not better. More weight up front with AWD.

Lets try it another way: I used to have a f10 n55 with Msport suspension. I tested an f10 550 and a f90 m5. The f10 550 is a joke, heavy in the nose and to soft overall to be considered sporty. The f10 n55 suspension is not that great and the balance of the car is just not good, at least not for sporty applications, I found the M5 f90 also pretty nose heavy on a race track. When I compare this to the G30, the G30 seems to be more balanced overall, less nose heavy, more predictable when driving it, more firm on the road. To me the F10 was a bit anoying mainly due to its active suspension crap. Maybe I'm a bit biased due to the suspension..

I see your point in that the G30 seems to be set up much better out of the box.
