    • M3 vs. 335i or S65 vs. N54 the final battle - $5k to the N54 that beats the BimmerBoost.com supercharged E92 M3 in a drag race

BimmerBoost.com poked fun at the N54 over the years and this back and forth N54 I6 vs. S65 V8 raged for over a decade mostly in good fun. It is time to finally put it to rest as both of these platforms are well past their prime. BimmerBoost.com is inviting any N54 street car to a $5k drag race at the BoostAddict.com Drag Day on May 5th.

I'm putting my money where my mouth is. $5k to the N54 STREET CAR that can beat the BimmerBoost supercharged E92 M3.

I have asserted N54's are dyno queens. I believe the N54 to be an inferior platform. I believe the N54 is nothing more than a BMW value tuning platform. I believe the N54 sounds worse, performs worse, looks worse, and overall just sucks compared to the E92 M3.

      Come prove me wrong.

The BimmerBoost.com E92 M3 is a street car. A stock internal, factory transmission, factory rear end, full weight E92 M3. It will smack your N54 down in a drag race, straight line, or on the roadcourse. Period.

Any N54 that is a full weight street car on the factory transmission is welcome to challenge for that $5k. The BimmerBoost N54 forum users can pick their representative right in this thread.

Those that say a drag prepped N54 with a 9 inch rear end and Powerglide swap or dedicated 135i drag car should race just prove the point that street N54's can not even match a stock internal blown M3.

What does the N54 need to put up? What do they have to wager to lose? Nothing other than the entry fee everyone pays. The satisfaction of proving yet again I am correct is more than enough for me.

So who wants to step up? Or is time for N54 fanboys to finally admit the truth?

When you build a full weight N54 street car that can top my M3 in a drag race. So, never?

lol I’ll throw my interior back in for 5k trust me. Your m3 doesn’t want any of this car.adding a couple hundred pounds to my car won’t phase it.

Well my M3 isn't one dimensional though. It can do all the things it could do before. It is the all around performance car it always was just better in every facet.

Well I mean you can do that and just turn the boost up for a glory run I guess until the motor blows as the $5k is worth more than the car itself.

That kind of defeats the purpose of what is supposed to be a street car vs. street car.

Not denying your car is fast as it is but let's be real it's a dedicated drag build with a trans swap upcoming, stripped interior, nitrous (although I don't think you're running it any longer), etc.

I don’t need to turn the boost up. Motor been thru hell if it’ was gonna blow it would have already. I drive my car on the street, drive it 120 miles to the track. Break a record and drive it back on all stock components. That sounds like a street car to me.

It is getting fun when BMS shop cars want a piece.

Frankly it should be Terry who runs me. He's the one who said my M3 would never beat his 335i... I think I have that comment saved.

        I mean that's fair.

If worse comes to worse we'll run.

Yeah but that would at least be for fun. Sort of coming full circle from where we started.

I’ve never seen someone troll their own forum LOL. Good luck though, nice to see the M3 is finally running strong. I know you’ve been building it for years.

Building what for years...? Takes like 10 hours to install a supercharger kit. Lol.

It’s your money so you can get any race you want, I look forward to the videos.

I know you’re trying to get a “fair” match up so you make all these restrictions on what mods the n54 car (which is a pedestrian run of the mill 3 series that large number of grandmas drive) can have when your car is effectively a factory modified car. “M” for Motorsport Upgraded suspension, rear end, transmission, etc, etc.

I personally would rather see a lower purse and race anyone with any equipment. Not for the bull$#@! n54 vs s65 debate, just for racing.

Would be cool to see a dct 335is with a big turbo go up against a dct m3 sc. anyone got videos of a matchup like that?

How much power does your m3 put down? Is it DCT or MT? What’s its best ET and trap speed?

I made zero restrictions on what mods the N54 engine can have. I'm on a factory 12.0:1 compression motor and I'm not $#@!ing.

All I said is that the N54 can't be a stripped out drag car with transmission and rear end changes. Is it fair for a Mustang GT350 to run a Mustang Cobra Jet?

If you want to run an M3 drag car, those exist: https://www.bimmerboost.com/content....s-8-941-164-33

Or how about one of these? https://www.bimmerboost.com/content....o-mod-drag-car

        Maybe this? https://www.bimmerboost.com/content....85-V10-monster

They have 'M' motors after all, right?

You could say the 335 is a factory modified car too. We're all on the same E9X chassis aren't we?

I never said I wouldn't race anyone. Everyone is welcome.

I think it is not out of line for me to draw the line on street car somewhere for this particular race and I did. It's a very reasonable and fair offer.

So now you want to run nitrous too?

Who knew an M3 with a supercharger was such a challenge. Facebook comments would have you thinking a 335i with a tune is putting football fields on me.
