    • Vargas Stage 3 upgraded N54 twin turbo cracks 900 whp with a very nice looking curve

This setup is still being dialed in so things can change but Vargas Turbo Technologies is making over 900 wheel horsepower on their BMW E90 335i shop car with their Stage 3 twin turbo N54.

This is said to be done at 31-32 psi or boost with 11 degrees of timing on a fairly mild tune:

The power carries up top so clearly the head is flowing well and the Schrick cams are working their magic.

The car is on E85 and has a sequential transmission swap.

Will we see 1/2 mile records broken shortly?

Torque coming in much later that what i normally see from your turbos. Is this a stage 3 or single?

TQ is held in check on purpose in the tune, easier on parts, this is a stage 3 car.

Nice. Looks perfect for what you're trying to do. Hope the tranny cooperates this time.

Tranny was fine, user error on the settings is what caused the issue. Should be right this time, if not I can play with it. NFZ usually affords you plenty of runs. I will be doing rolling, and standing start 1/2 mile passes.

So is it time to update your signature for a new TT WR?

This is sick, just look at that curve. It has so much more in it, that's the most amazing part. 400wtq@3krpm Mhmmm, this thing will smoke anything.

@Chris@VargasTurboTech just to clarify, what is the trans and fuel? Is this an E92 335i? Shop car or customer?

Correct, pump E85 $2.79 a gallon from the station up the street, no fancy race ethanol. I will reveal some more of the set up a little later. We will be offering some parts we are testing on this car for sale soonish.

This car is also running our spline lock hub and has been for a while. No issues.

We all know what the "other guys" graph looks like when they turned smoothing down to 0 to fake 1000WHP. They are supposed to be tuners, it's their own shop car, yet with zero smoothing it looks like an audio file. Here is what our graph looks like with the area after I lifted trimmed off, and zero smoothing. I am not a tuner and do not claim to be one, but I have done all the tuning on this car since Justin made the initial tune for me, as he is super busy. Looks pretty good to me...

Yes, the 0 smoothing graph is pretty laughable

So they cheated? Or else how do you explain the audio like line?

Shiv used to do it, its common at times. When running smoothing at 5, you are basically adding a filter to the graph to take any inconsistencies from poor tuning, possible interference in the RPM signal, etc, etc. These usually show themselves in spikes, as those do. When people are close to a number they want to claim, but not there, many times they will dump the smoothing down hoping one of the spikes gets them the number they want. Which is what happened there. 1000WHP claimed, 1000WHP not made, also shows how $#@!ty the tune was

I'd say that counts as cheating.

Looks awesome! With luck our trailer will pan out tomorrow and Payam will be racing the 135 so people can see the difference between 750whp and 900whp. Click here to enlarge
