    • Call it a Hellephant - Mopar's new 1000 horsepower supercharged 426 ci Hemi crate motor

Take everything you love about the Hellcat and add almost a liter of displacement to it, a new larger 3.0 liter supercharger, new engine internals, and a new lightweight aluminum block. What you get is a crate motor from Mopar offering 1000 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque.

Yes, it's absurd. Yes, it's awesome. The thinking was that the 7.0 liter motor would be naturally aspirated but Mopar blew everyone away with a new engine that is simply on another level.

      • "Hellephant" 426 Supercharged Crate HEMIģ engine and kit revealed during Mopar press briefing at 2018 SEMA Show in Las Vegas
      • "Hellephant" Mopar crate engine delivers mammoth numbers: 1,000 horsepower and 950 lb.-ft. of torque
      • New 1,000 horsepower crate Engine Kit is another Mopar first-ever feature
      • Logo nods to legendary Mopar 426 HEMI engine, nicknamed "elephant" engine for its power and size
      • "Hellephant" Crate HEMI Engine Kit allows for relatively simple plug-and-play performance
      • 1968 Dodge "Super Charger" Concept unveiled at SEMA features 1,000 horsepower "Hellephant" engine and kit under the hood
      • Dodge "Super Charger" Concept elevates one of most iconic FCA vehicles with custom modern touches and Mopar products
      • "Hellephant" 426 Supercharged Mopar Crate HEMI engine and kit available first quarter of 2019

The question is, what do you put it in? Mopar will offer swap kits for classic cars but you can imagine enthusiasts will come up with some crazy combos.

With the supercharger only pushing roughly 15 psi of boost on a 9.5:1 compression ratio, something tells us Mopar left a bit on the table.

All BoostAddict wants to know is, how much money?

        That would be absolutely sick.

I'm thinking a Wrangler with one of these might be a good time.

it would as well in the wrangler, they already have the hemi swap kits as well as quite a few people swap over the SRT 392 (and 7L stroker) hemi into wranglers.... axle upgrades are a must as the 3.6L factory motor with the Ripp or sprintex s/c already break the factory axles Click here to enlarge

This has got to be to the coolest thing any OEM does. A freaking off the shelf 1000 hp motor with electronics.

Now I have to think about what to put it in. I definitely want to build something with this.

A Prowler would actually be a real hotrod with one of these:

you can get the hellcrate (707 hp) now for around 15K so i would think this hellephant maybe has a +5K premium, so 20K for a factory plug-n-play 1000HP setup with 3yr/unlimited mileage warranty (assuming its same as hellcrate) is not bad at all

Not bad at all? It's insane. Swap it into everything.

It has to be way more than $5k adder over the hellcrate. Its a much bigger motor, new block, bigger blower etc. I wouldn't be surprised if it was $35-40k for the package.

I'm just guestimating off the pricing on mopar's crate engine site

for example, going from the 5.7L n/a crate motor to the 6.4L n/a crate motor (12.2% increase in size) went from $5147 to $7,946 (54% increase in price)

so if the parity holds similar then going from the 6.2L s/c hellcat crate motor to the 7.0L s/c hellephant would equate to an increase in size of 7.6% and extrapolated 48% increase in price, so from the $15K hellcat motor would be ~$23.6K for hellephant

I think anything under 30K would still be pretty amazing px

First off, it is not the old hemispherical heads, but another pent roof 2 valve design. Neither does it use the old block design.

Oh well, anything in which it is installed better have a 40 gallon tank unless it is a strip only car.
