    • Autotuner Tool now available for Bosch MED17.3.5 & Bosch ME17.8.33 - OBD-II McLaren 720S and Ferrari 488GTB read/write

You will notice tunes spreading out for the McLaren 720S and Ferrari 488 GTB and part of what makes that possible is tuning tools such as this one from Autotuner. Their tool has the ability to read and write the Bosch MED17.3.5 and Bosch ME17.8.33 ECU's.

Various tuners will purchase this tool and rebrand it with their logo which is something Autotuner offers.

How does it work and who is it for?

The tuner or end user then chooses their car in the Autotuner software:

It is honestly very simple but the tuner has to know what changes they are making to the software once they have write access to be successful and safe.

If you are wondering how many of these tuners are flashing these cars, well, this is it. There are a few main tuner tools that compete for market share and that is where the big bucks are.

How one does do the tuning with this tool? Does it come with some sort of software that allows to change values like a standalone or something?

Hello, editing software is not provided. Most of our customers use EVC Winols to edit the files they read with Autotuner.

Autotuner is dedicated to read and write the data.

Past showed tools without sub fee don`t survive once the sales go down...

In the past only those tool supplier stay in the market who take a subscription. Otherwise it will be difficult to maintain
for example new protocols or other inventions are necessary to keep such a tool alive and competitive.

What was the cost? Can it do F series OBD? All said and done with WinOLS and $#@!, what's the overall cost involved? I plan to get into tuning scene here.

I don't want to talk cost. You can check their site for the master tool price.

The compatability list is pretty damn long but there are various ways to flash and not all are obd. I think it does F-series OBD. Many tuners just buy this tool and rebrand it. They even offer rebranding when you purchase. It's amusing how many tuners act like they did the heavy lifting (pro tuning freaks for example).

It might be fun to launch a flashing business and I'm certainly in the right area. Let's see what the tool is like when I get it.
