    • Why is nobody else doing Audi 4.0 TFSI V8 big single turbo conversions? Klassen-Motors hits 1000+ horsepower with single turbo C7 RS6

The Audi 4.0 TFSI V8 platform pretty much was stuck with people pushing the RS6/RS7 turbos to the limit. Some hybrid solutions have come out but for the most part everyone is running the factory design. Well, everyone except Klasen-Motors in Germany.

Why is nobody else doing this? A big freaking single turbocharger sitting in the valley is exactly what you want for big power. Klassen claims 1000+ horsepower is no sweat and shows it on the Dynojet graph except they posted the world's smallest graph:

Obviously this raises questions such as how the transmission is holding together and how they are fueling it which AudiBoost would love answers too. Apparently this is achieved on the stock engine internals as well which is hard to believe. Methanol is likely playing a large fueling role.

      They do modify the valvetrain:

The turbo is a Garrett GTX42 although apparently they have different options you can try but the Garrett turbo will support up to 1150 horsepower.

Maybe this will catch on and others will try it but it seems like exactly what the 4.0 TFSI V8 platform needed to make that jump to the next level.

There is a video of the prototype car in action below as experienced by AutoTopNL. Klasen states they are currently working on another single turbo 1000+ hp conversion for a customer.

Hopefully we see more these out in the wild and more single turbo designs for the 4.0 TFSI V8.

Pure awesomeness, you can hear it in the test drivers voice.

The Audi S6 would be a perfect US based candidate. They have dropped to the $30-40k range and come with a DCT as opposed to an auto like the rs7.

if you’re building the valve train you might as well upgrade the rods and pistons and then you have the assurance the bottom end can deal with 2x the factory torque.

any idea on how much that full setup from klasen (one s) costs?

I'm with you there just a question of if the DCT can be upgraded to take it?

If not, the A8 is a sneaky good candidate.

        800ftlbs of torque with no slippage...which is good for 1000hp @ ~6500rpm

The dyno picture shows a FAT torque curve all the way to 7400rpm

do you know of any S6's? or only RS6's? I want to know if anyone has done the DL501 clutch upgrade on the DSG S-tronic transmission in the S6

I know only about RS6 in Europe and RS7 in China. Check out TVS Engineering in NL, maybe they can help you about your question as they often do special projects if it comes to gearboxes.

Defo go with TVS engineering for DL501 tune. They state it can handle up to 1000Hm with their tune.

I`m sure they could sort out race clutch upgrade as they offer this for DQ500.
