CROWD FUNDING - BMW M2/M3/M4 OEM DMFW and twin plate clutch

So i want to put a feeler out there who would be interested in crowd funding a
Dmfw and m4 clutch to be transplanted into a post 09 6 bolt crank 135 and 1m

Since no one has tried this and its a expensive maybe and to push the platform forward I wanted to give it a go

If a big bunch of us chip in and there is a big enough demand it would be a great alternative for us

The clutch and flywheel and all associated parts is around 2k

    Its all bmw oem parts

Now if anyone is interested ill put a list of names together and the bigger the group the smaller the donation

If it works you get your money back in full, if it doesnt we sell the clutch
and you get most of your money back or we can donate it to the cancer council or what ever charity you guys wish

    Who is interested ?

I think this is a great idea and would love to see the community pull together to make it happen and get themselves a nice clutch option.

I like it if there was a way to convert it to 8 bolt, and I think many others would be interested in that as well. In any case I'd put in $50 for this to happen.

if you wanted to, I may be able to use a lot of our nice inspection equipment to measure some of the parts, for example make sure that the dmfw could be used with other clutch combinations.

If i can get a second hand one ill take you up on that

Just need people to put their name down

Everyone wants the cheapest option but very few want to spend on r&d

Im offering a full refund if it works, cant get better than that

8 bolt would be a larger market. Which one is easier to convert, 6 or 8? Can we do both? Interested in 8-bolt myself.

First we need to test if its even worth it, seeing that the m4's are running it no issues with big power and much heavier than the e82 chassis, it would be a no brainer for it to be tried

Just need r&d supporters to chip in, or if someone can donate a used or worn out one and I'll pay postage it would give us a new clutch option especially how cheap the oem clutch is.

Sounds like you have some info on this? If they are looking for some volumes for going ahead with the production, their website does not deliver the message.

Doesn't hurt to ask and try. Regardless it's good that you make these types of threads and try to push for solutions.

The problem is that everybody wants something for nothing.

Without some kind of crowd funding we will never see any cheap reliable solutions.

We will have to depend on vendors that give us substandard products at an inflated price.

If I had money to blow I would certainly try this but atm I'm starting a massive n54 motor build which is going to swallow all my money.

It has already been tested here in Germany. Doesnt work cause the package flywheel + clutch is too big.
