Damn, is this supposed to be the next 'SS'? or will they keep that model and add the ZL1 as an upscale model.

Its placed above the SS. This is Chevy's answer to the Mustang GT500. The car is really hot. Look at that massive 305 rear tire !!!! I am considering it for my next car.

Come on guys don't argue about the interior. Who cares! If the interior was AUDI quality so would the cost and then you would complain about that.

There will always be people who complain.

You get what you pay for, whats' the big deal? This car looks like it has potential for what it offers.

What is the price supposed to be? Should undercut the GT500?

Glad they did it, things are getting really interesting.

I dunno why they called it the ZL1.

    Should have been the Z28?

I don't know, that is tough one.

The ZL-1 was sort of the king of all Camaros and I guess that is where they are going with this:

The Central Office Production Order (COPO) 9560 was an option installed an all-aluminum 427 cu in (7 L) big-block called the ZL-1 and was designed specifically for drag racing. It was conceived by drag racer Dick Harrell, and ordered through Fred Gibb Chevrolet in La Harpe, IL, with the intention of entering NHRA Super Stock drag racing. Just 69 ZL-1 Camaros were produced, the engine alone cost over US$4,000 — nearly twice that of a base coupe with a V8. Though rated at 430 hp (321 kW) gross, the ZL-1 made closer to 376 Net HP in it's "as installed" condition, making it both the fastest and rarest of all Camaros
I think Z28 likely makes more sense although the original Z28 had a lower hp rating than the SS.

Car makes me angry, 600+ hp easily had, big displacement with positive displacement blower, and will cost around $50k.

Well, I would still rather mod my BMW as anyone can have one of these but damn... The GT500 and now the ZL1 are the best performance options in that $50k range and if you sneeze on them they make more power.
