    ABR Houston's Engine program

    We're excited to get built N54's into the hands of more people who are making power. We all know the platform is progressing heavily, and we want to see big cars make big power!
    That being said, we've come up with an engine program that is designed for YOUR BUDGET and YOUR LEVEL of build.

    Outside of your shop looks nice! That's a big plus for me. $#@!ty looking shops don't get my business. I think it says something about the pride and quality of work when a shop is well taken care of.

    ABR Houston's N54 engine build program - Starts at $1999 for closed deck block

    ABR Houston is able to build your N54 motor in a variety of ways. They have several options to choose from. As the N54 is an open deck block some high power N54's run into issues with cylinders flexing under load.

    • CNC closed deck conversion
    • Hone the cylinders to equal size and provide the cylinder bore size
    • Replace oil galley plugs
    • Deck the cylinder block with our custom deck plate

    What’s Included?

    • Deck the cylinder block with our custom deck plate
    • Check and if needed, straighten crank
    • Refurbish the crankshaft, and polish the journals

    • File fit piston rings to each cylinder

    Depending on options things go up from there. You can add headwork, Pauter rods, or Schrick cams for example. The end goal is up to the customer.

    In today's age of big power N54's engine builds are becoming far more common. ABR Houston in particular has a lot of experience in this area.

    I've turned one of the punisher engines by hand in person and I've got to say it was one of the easiest engines I've ever turned by hand. ABR maintains a very clean and professional work environment.

    Can you give more info on the head options (what's in each stage, what the ferrea valve train entails too?).

    Great question!
    The cylinder heads are spelled out on the performance engine page. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
    The rods on the performance engine page are for our strokers.
    The rods used on the build page are Pauters.
    If you want the Olivers in your engine we can do it, but I think I only have one set (maybe none) left, it would require us to cut the crank and install NASCAR bearings.
    It's doable but it'd add additional cost.

    Until I see a cylinder crack on a closed deck, no. I know Tony has beat the hell out of my stroker engine and the block/rods/pistons/crank is still surviving......
