Bmw e30 - Hunt for the 8sec is ON !!
So time to make an thread for this winter adventures.
A bit of info on the car then for those that havent had the time to see the green "hulk" before.
The car then.
BMW E30 2door
plastic hood and trunk, and plastic windows in the back.
M20b25 Drill ø stroked to 2.7L
The head is an standard 2.5 with crmo retainers, stainless steel valves, and heavyduty rockers
and PPF camshaft
Its making 646whp and 832wnm at the moment
With this power it made 9,6 and 235kmh at the 1/4 mile
And this is with split rear end and a zf gearbox
Now the target for 2011
The powertrain will remain the same, the clutch setup will be changed if necessary.
The goal is to hit the 8sec on the 1/4mile, to this then will need more than 646wheel horses.
These components will be changed
Fuel system, Turbo, cam, injectors and then new pistons
the fuel system for this year will be completely from Weldon racing pump who is also a new sponsor for 2011
Filters also from Weldon.
And for the daily driver setup will need an Weldon Fuel pump controller
(this will make the fuel much colder and also so the pump wont run att 100% all the time)
injectors will be bosch 1600cc
Turbo and cam is not clear yet, but its between a PT71 or BorgWarner 375 or 475
More to come

Being the first to hit 8's would be a major achievement. I think there are about 3 people in position to try for it right now.
You need to decide on that turbo!

Those are some crazy burnouts!!Some people live long, meaningful lives.
Other people eat shit and die.
I'm not racist, I hate everybody equally; especially fat people.

nope but they will do
you can generally say that they will go for 1600hp, but running the e85 is a 30% lost, so they should go to 1120hp on e85 and that with 45Psi "ground pressure" running 60 will do some more

yeep its working really good.
you can run high compression ratio, or even high ignition if you like..
i had one injector that clogged up last summer, instead of making a big hole in the piston it just blew the head gasket..
its a really forgiving fuel.

Karel, you and your friend ares AWSOME!
I'm looking to build a "budget"nitrous M30 for this summer.(E30 body)I need some advises on the diff and output shafts. What are you using?I read that you use a split diff and a ZF gearbox!Except of the tranny(M30),what are your advise/experience on what's between the engine and slicks tires!I might start a thread, but you could answer theses questions easylly I think!
