mthis: MHP Headers, O/R Mids, v3 CDT, DRs, K&Ns

dodger63: MHP Headers, O/R Mids, v3 CDT, DRs, front CCW skinnies, CF hood and trunk (-60lbs), Foam Filters. However Mike weighs 225-235lbs so the CF parts just offset some of his "mass" lol.

    For clarification:

    S1: Tune only

    S2: Headers/Mids, Tune

    S2.5: + Race Catback

    S3: + Cams

    S4: + Ported heads

    Thanks!

    Great times!
What would be the "retail" price for a complete stage 4 C63 upgrade (including all other stages) and total power/torque gains over stock? If S2 are doing low 11's/high 10's, safe to say S4 will be around 10.5's? By when do you think we'll see numbers like that?

S2 is $6995, gains are 110-115rwhp/70-75rwtq SAE over stock

    Catback is + $2495

S4 is around $17.5-18k: Gains are 175-185rwhp/95-105rwtq SAE over stock

The bottom line however is no one has come close to even our S2 results with the M156. Same day same track yes a S4 car will be around .5 quicker than a S2 car. You have to keep in mind the lower you go ET wise the harder it is to get gains, as in it takes more power to go from 11.2-10.8 than it does 12.2-11.8.

    Thanks

in the S2 do you include a transmission tune? or is it seperate or apart of another package? also how much for just the tranny tune. I was very dissapointed with the stock tranny shift times

All packages include our v3 CDT (Complete Driveline Tuning), we make map changes via the ECU that control the TCU so you can't have trans changes without an ECU tune. The stock trans is a conventional automatic and simply doesn't compare to a DCT, SMG, DSG, etc.

Andy, First off congrats to your hard work and to the guys racing. You know a die hard racers when that take a Thursday off just to race. You tune is strong that is for sure. I just have a few questions, more of a pick your brain sorta thing. Question 1) Trying to gage what other cars run. If todays DA was reported to be -1500ft. Us folks out here in AZ see about +1500ft on a good day, partly due to the track (Speedworld) being at +1300ft elevation. Knowing that I havent seen a C63 MHP car run in person at my local track (speedworld). What do you think your S2 cars would run with a 3000ft swing in DA? I ask this because I'm reminiscing my old Supercharged C55 days. I was only able to muster up an 11.72 at +1800ft then at Famoso, I knocked that down a bit with a 11.55 pass. Granted my trans was tied in a knot, however equally as terrible at Speedworld and Famoso. I think a .5sec correction sound reasonable to me with a 3000ft swing. Wondering what your thoughts are.

2nd Question. with the S2 car now just hundredths of a second away from Dad's car. That was running a 160 shot of nitrous. Do you think these cars are not liking the nitrous setup?

I mean these questions with all sincerity.. Honestly congrats to you and your customers

Thanks Mike it is appreciated, and again hats off to the racers for making it possible.

Question 1) Trying to gage what other cars run. If todays DA was reported to be -1500ft. You know as well as I that it's hard to guesstimate what other cars would run at X track on X date, but we can generalize to an extent with these two cars because Mike and Hagi have ran their cars so many different times with known weather. IMO based on what I've seen with the M156s and assuming around 4100-4150lbs of weight every 750' of DA is worth about a tenth and 1mph. I think that the data backs this as we've seen dodger63 run 11.23-11.38@124.5-125.5 in positive DA air (+200' DA) at ATCO on 11/20/10. So assuming that .1 and 1mph he was right on today with the 10.99/11.0s@126-127mph. Mthis's car reacted accordingly as well far as ET/Traps in varying DA, 11.38@123.5 at ATCO on 11/20/10 and now 11.19@125.5 in air approx 1500' better.

So if I was to assume what they would run in AZ in 3000' DA I would guess 11.3s-11.5s again assuming all else equal including traction, driver, etc.

Throwing your car into the equation changes things a bit however because FI cars don't react quite as poorly to thinner air as N/A cars but heatsoak does become a factor on back to back runs . However on the opposite end of the spectrum they do pick up more than N/A cars in cold air as we saw with Luis's car today and Vinnie's 55K vs Keith's C63 in FL. Keith consistently beats Vinnie when it's 60F or warmer out, however if colder it's the other way around.

I wish we could get everyone to a central track to race at least once. East vs West Coast on friendly terms of course. I think it would make for a hell of a fun day.

2nd Question. with the S2 car now just hundredths of a second away from Dad's car. That was running a 160 shot of nitrous. Do you think these cars are not liking the nitrous setup?
The nitrous run you're referring to with Keith's car 10.98@123 was done with a shot trans that wouldn't shift (clutch packs were worn down so much gears wouldn't engage at WOT), so we ended up yanking all nitrous at 5500rpm just to get it to shift. We tried level 10 clutch packs but they lasted 8 days before we had to replace with stock again. The 11.1@130.47 run with 125 shot is more telling however the trans and converter were already slipping (as seen in the videos taken that day of all nitrous passes). The bottom line is these trannys and converters can't take serious torque, which is why we feel cams and less nitrous is the way to go. We'll get the HP and a good tq boost from the nitrous but nothing like we'd see from a 160 shot.

I will also say that Keith's car (pre-cams) would beat dodgers car at the same track on the same day, Keith's records have always come from FL which doesn't help him much at all either.

Any good N/A motor is a great nitrous motor, so to answer the question, these cars absolutely love nitrous. The rest of the driveline is a different story. As such we'll work with what we have until better parts are available.

I mean these questions with all sincerity.. Honestly congrats to you and your customers
Thanks Mike and I hope we can continue down this path in the future.

100 in the 1/8 is impressive!

So MHP is the first in the 10's and that is without nitrous, correct?

Go to www.smokemup.com and pay $5 per 3 mos to use their automatic DA calculator. You choose the strip, input time, data, date and it autocorrects to sea level for you. Dragtimes DA calc is not accurate btw.

That is correct, not bad for a 4100lb 4 door! Correct on the nitrous as well, neither car has or used any and plenty of people at the event to verify it.

    Thanks!
