The new Daily Driver. 2014 2500 Cummins Laramie Edition

    Hey guys,

A very exciting day for me, got to purchase my dream truck!

    2014 RAM 2500 Cummins Laramie

Maximum Steel Grey or whatever they call it with black leather interior.

Basically loaded up besides a couple silly features not necessary on a truck (of course has the heated and cooled seats though, cause hey, it's a must)

Anyway, apparently to date there is only one tune available and no DEF delete available yet for the 13's and 14's, so will be waiting on that. For now just a a lockable roll up bed cover so that I can haul stuff on road trips and that's it.

Only have pics from the dealer's website right now since I didn't get home till well after dark tonight. Have to say, it looks 10x better now that it's detailed and seeing it at night with all of the LED lights than what these pics do justice.

    First impressions:

Wow, very impressed with the power delivery in stock form. I know that the new version ECU software for the 13's and 14's offer a new torque management system that makes it much smoother than past models. For 2014 the rear suspension was upgraded to a coil suspension and have to say, I test drove all three major brands and the RAM is absolutely the best all around driving truck. The Ford probably has better brakes, but honestly the styling has a bit to be desired IMO, and the steering just didn't have any feel to it. Anyway, before it turns into a big three versus thread...here's the pics!

Sticky, if any Dodge/RAM vehicle deserves its own section it's this one.

Motor is an I6 6.7L Turbo Cummins producing 370hp and 800 ft lb of torque.

lol, I'm going to leave this on stock tires for awhile, so once I get a tune on it and hopefully a DEF delete we'll see what kind of 60ft and 1/8th mile times I can come up with.

BTW - this doesn't mean you're going to turn your ST 335i in to a trailer queen does it?

No...unfortunately the Aisin 8-speed is only available on the 3500. Thought about spending the extra money, but really not worth it. I've actually read about some complaints on the Aisin in regards to driveability, it handles power no doubt, but just not necessary for me. I don't plan on going crazy with this thing, and from what I can tell guys aren't having any issues with them. The largest downfall is when you go bigger tires the truck starts to slow down off the line cause of the only available rear axle ratio being 3.42

lol, it's not going to become a trailer queen, but I do plan on getting a hauler in the next year or so. Will just work out better for longer trips. Idea is to buy a house in the next 6 months to a year max, then a hauler and a side by side. Yup...that's all that's on the list now, no biggie right?
