New VBox Times - Fixed Boost leak (minor) - Added weight

I tightened 2 hoses around the Y pipe and filled the tank totally full (Tim says with the Wallbro 400 E85 pump one needs to keep full tank to allow FP to stay up)

Car was much quicker in a 40 mile thrashing around Manorville.

The car loads much better in 4th gear etc.

Note - I only did one 0 - 60 and one dedicated 0 - 100 and was very lax in 1st gear and only went to 3rd gear. Faster times were achieved with a 3rd-4th gear change at 6000 rpm rather than 7k in 3rd.

I also put the spare wheel and tools back in.... car is much better balanced with some front end weight.

Car hit and held 1.2+ bars to 1.3 bars in 4th

I got a vbox but really dont know how to launch, sometimes I drop the clutch at 3500rpms and stalls, or at 5000rpms and bounces on the rev limiter, the later is fun but seems bad to the car.

    Any advice?

I am a puxxy when it comes to launches... I may add the 2 step launch but Tim showed me some tranny cases that had stress fractures from launches... I don't even know how I went as low as 3.8s 0-60 as I don't thrash it in 1st....

I did some quicker times 60-100 and 30-100 but somehow do not know how to get them out of the VBOX... will practise next week

I am guessing from my mods and times I will be about 7.8-8s 60-130 mph.... hope to go out early one day next week and test and log and video it all... my video died today

I have the 1 foot roll out box checked on my VBOX.

Does that only affect the 1/4 mile times or does it work even on

Think everyone do use this, makes the numbers a bit better, but if you are comparing times with others keep it like is.

My cra hates high ambient temps and air con

Should I install a water/meth kit or just go straight GT2RS IC's... my IATS hit 120 F today and my 60-100 times were 0.7s slower and 60-130 best was 7.7 secs and then all the rest were 8.0 to 8.8 (on the exact same strecth of road)

I am going to add DVs, AMS 1 bar wastegates with stock K24s, then next year do headers, rods/pins and add GT turbos, new ICs

Will water/meth hold me til then ??? for lower IATs

I hear you... it's a slippery slope then with diff turbos, really means I go with IC's, BOVs, probably rods and pins.... missus already wants to kill me... think I will push K24s for balance of this year with new Dvs and the 1 bar wastegates and then re-assess next year.

This was a video from yesterday, much slower than day before

From my 60-100 and an 80-115 mph measure I am going to be on average way over 8 seconds 60-130 from my times y'day, based on best times the day before it may get to 7.9s 60-130 I guess. I have removed the tools/spares and everyting bar the CD etc from the trunk and will add some E85 today and run again.

If you go full E85 that will also cool things down a bit.

if new big turbos is in your future better save the money for some 7" IC's. If the voice of reason (i.e. the wife wins) then the gt2rs IC's are good...

yeah I may go 997 GT2RS IC + mod them for the 996... I have an N20 kit and a water/meth kit but would prefer not to mongrelise a TTS with either...

I did some exciting 60-130s and 30-100s in the 92F heat here in the Riverhead valley, I will post when I download them

If I like a car I usually keep it until it dies, but will keep you in mind.

I have Potenza s02A tires and they are ok but will switch to PSS Cup I think later in the year

Thx Sticky, I really like it now that it is RWD... AWD is just not for me, but the car should be MUCH quicker. When I get time I am going to do a very honest write up in detail on this car versus all the other cars I have driven and rated.

Next will be 1 bar wastegates, DVs and GT2RS ICs or whatever else Tim recommends
I will really be pushing the limits of the K24's

Did a power test in 3rd gear up to 100 mph was getting 517 rwhp (max reading) in the 92F heat here today

My aim is to get a 6.99 second 60-130 mph which is my beloved McLaren 12c territory.

1st gear in this thing is effing pathetic and 2nd gear only a little better... with RWD it would easier launching a truck

    2015 Audi A3 2.0 TFSI - Eurodyne 0 - 100 in 10.67s
    2015 McLaren 650S (RHD) - UK - 1/3rd owner yet to drive

I'm a RWD kind of guy so I understand .

Don't stress about times stress more about the car running right and putting a smile on your face.
