Hotter 2015 MKVII Golf GTI Clubsport or Golf R EVO with 375 plus horsepower on the way?

Spy photos of the the red MKVII Golf you see pictured testing on the Nurburgring have been circulating and it begs the question as to what it is exactly. The decal on the side of the car says Wiechers Sport which is a tuning and racing company located in Germany. What is odd about that is that the car has VW plates and was going in and out of Volkswagen's facility on the Nurburgring. Is it just to throw people off?

The front bumper is similar to the MKVII GTI and not the MKVII Golf R but that also is likely there just to throw people off. It also looks like there is a roll cage in the car. This appears to be a serious roadcourse MKVII Golf considering the lowered suspension, cage, and rear wing.

A 370+ horsepower Golf R EVO has already been announced so this likely is that car. Audi and VW also have announced their intention to build the most powerful 2.0 liter four-cylinder in the world and VW wants that motor for the Golf.

Only Volkswagen likely knows what this is but a hotter MKVII Gold is coming and if VWBoost were to guess that is what you are seeing tested.

Wow, this could be lots of fun...wonder if it's coming here. 375 hp out of a 2.0t sounds like a great time.

If this is another car they don't give us VW can take a loss for all eternity in the US as far as I'm concerned.

I am getting real sick and tired of VAG's holdouts on us in general. No RS cars since...forever ago, half the good VWs are never sold here, and for that matter many of the cool Audis as well. I think they're scared...they don't want to go toe-to-toe with BMW and Mercedes. Why I have no idea but I cannot think of any other explanation.

I don't know WTF they are thinking. If they are going to sell in this market either go all the way or get out. Why half ass it and then wonder why it isn't working?

Yeah I don't get it at all - makes no sense to me. Just take the Scirocco - huge opportunity, yet they refuse to give it to us. You know how many of those they could have sold here? Tons. More than Beetles I'm sure.

Looks more like tuned MKVII GTI rather than a super hardcore R model to me.

It does appear that way on the surface, yes. What it is we truly do not know but a hotter Golf or maybe two are on the way.
