Before and after EPL (European Performance Labs) tuned B8 S4 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 S-Tronic/DSG 1/4 mile results

It is nice to see before and after 1/4 mile results for a tuned car rather than just a dynograph. The dragstrip works much like a dyno does showing the increase in horsepower as evident by a higher trap speed which should also have a positive effect on the elapsed time. AMS took this B8 S4 3.0 TFSI V6 to the drag strip and ran a 13.03 @ 106.56 on the stock OEM tune. They then had EPL (European Performance Labs) tune the car and ran it again on the same day on the same strip.

The result? 12.45 @ 110.25. An increase of roughly 4 miles per hour (highest trap of the day was 111.01) and a half second in the 1/4 mile. That supports the claimed 50 wheel horsepower increase practically right on the dot. That is a very solid improvement from just a tune. Keep in mind, it is a lot harder to get a darg strip to lie than a dyno.

Need to see more tuners step up to the plate with this kind of comparison!

Agreed it would be nice to see 1/4 mile times along with dyno charts. Often the logistics of doing so are difficult though. For a tuner in SoCal you have to drive pretty far to find a strip. Not always feasible.
