    N54 with 72mm single turbo

I went to a shop in Mississauga, Ontario to grab some parts that this dude had for sale. Turned out he had them for sale because that shop was doing a custom single turbo setup, using a 70mm turbo I beleive. It was not a pretty set up and I'm not sure it would work in the long run, but that seemed like the biggest turbo on this platform I've seen. Wish I took a picture.

@Tzu 70mm turbo? Sounds like a shop that is either smarter than everyone else and has a built motor and their own way of tuning, or aren't that familiar with the platform and are in for a rude awakening....lol

Was more of a "I'm going to 1 up everyone else" sort of thing. Stock motor. Ridiculous setup.

Yeah, I mean I don't doubt it can be a dyno queen, but it's going to be an awful power band, and not be able to launch worth $#@! I'm sure. We'll see though, I'm definitely rooting for some of the bigger turbo guys on this platform to come through with something.

It fit just barely. Had the turbo laying around so I decided to use it but ended up changing it to a gt37r now. Much better!!!

Lol. Long time lurker. Haven't posted anything about the build at all. The car is currently at 18lbs with meth.. Waiting for some better weather as I'm in Toronto to get some logs to terry and turn it up to 25 psi. Registered for a half mile event in Chicago in June so should be exiting.

Looks cool. Any more info? Any fuel system upgrades? 6MT or 6AT? Any logs you can share currently? Curious as to how the GT37r spools. Which specific turbo is it?

That's definitely a different wastegate setup!!

Nice weld on the turbine housing. Isn't exactly easy to weld cast iron.

ya i love how the wastegate it set up it works extremely well. the car is a 2007 6mt i dont currently have a ny logs worth uploading but as soon as i do i will do so. When the 72mm borg warner was on it was ridiculous. Terrible match unless you can raise the rev limit and take advantage. The gt37r is a true gt37R dual ball bearing with .91 a/r hotside. it spools really well and im always in my powerband no complaints. i can see it make 7xx easily.

Fuel system is just a walbro inline and the meth bridging the gap for now but as i said i havent got passed 18lbs but at 18 is pulls hard! 3rd gear is a right off. ive had alot of problems burning o2 sensors. ive gone through 5 of them at 200 a pop. Click here to enlarge
