    Whos using a line lock?

Ive got a 6MT car and find sometimes its very hard to get a good burnout while at the strip. Who is using a line lock kit? I have only found AR's kit... anything else out there? How was install?

    I am, it's a must.

Was going to suggest @ar design

Buy it. Burn out easily. Get a good 60 foot. Be happy.

It would be nice if I could go in the garage and take some pics to show you but my switch is in the glove compartment with a lengthy cord.

That seems expensive, I was looking into universal kits on Jegs, haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. Nice kits on jegs were around $150, but I'm not one to cheap out if there is a better reason to get this AR kit. Anyone know?

Well it works and the solenoids hold. It's track proven. It's designed for the BMW. There's some reasons.

Well since he's got a 6MT, shouldn't a universal line lock be completely fine? The AR Design one really stick out because it's compatible with the M3's DCT

DCT or not is irrelevant really as you are just holding the line pressure of the front brakes. You want damn strong solenoids though I can tell you that. I believe AR Design revised this design a few times.

Either way, it worked for me.

Im surprised more 6MT guys aren't using these. To me its almost a must.. I have been doing "OK" burnouts for 2 years and I think it is really hurting my ET's. Its got to be hurting everyone else too.

possibly a nooby question but ive never used one of these things does it just not let fluid to pressurize the rear brake lines so when you turn it on nothing really happens and then when you hit the brakes it only locks up the front or do you have to hit the brakes and then lock it so the fluid remains in the front locked up?

You hit the brake, lock it, release the brake, and it keeps them locked until you unlock it.

I don't know if you would want do wear on your brakes like that. It's really about just keeping the front wheels from moving so you can spin the rears easily without having to press on the brakes and wear the rear pads/rotors. It just makes a rear wheel drive burnout soooo much easier.

It improved my burnouts at the strip that's for sure.

i did did research before and this is the best way, IMO. A line lock is a simple device. No need to pay triple IMO. You just have to buy the right fittings and you're good.

It's on my todo list (way down on the list).

In the footwell... nicely done. I kind of look funny dragging a cable from my glove compartment. Some guy asked if it was to activated nitrous once.

    @mjmarovi any update?

I can't tell if the kit above is sufficient to lock both front wheels. I think you just need that kit (or one like it) and SS lines such as these:

I lost all of my notes on fittings so I have to start over.
