Underground Racing 2R R8 5.2 V10 build puts down a jaw dropping 1831 horsepower to the wheels

Now this is big boy horsepower. Most readers are aware that Underground Racing twin turbo Gallardo V10 builds have shown some absurd horsepower with 2000+ horses at the crank. The Audi R8 5.2 V10 has the exact same direct injected V10 motor as the newer LP-560 Gallardo's so on paper it should be capable of the same horsepower. Here is the result and proof in practice with an Underground Racing R8 5.2 2R hitting 1831 horsepower to the wheels.

Yes, that is on race gas. What about on pump gas? How about 1150 horsepower at the wheels on 93 octane. A 1000+ wheel horsepower daily driven R8 is easily within reason.

A Motec JRR ECU makes this all possible along with a strengthened drivetrain consisting of a billet diff and gears. Check out the dynograph and photos below. Much respect to Underground Racing for building the strongest R8's in existence.

damn that's a sexy set up.

i guess it's safe to assume it doesn't have the 7 speed DSG in it though.

Some dynojets are AWD. How can you confirm this wasn't?

Anyways, I wished they would show rpm instead of mph on the graph, it looks like a 6th gear pull lol.

At last they are properly building these cars. In the beginning they just did the engine upgrades leaving the drive-train stock and most Lambos were breaking the AWD system ending up with rwd and a very unjoyful ride. Now they are building the cars to the last bit the way they are supposed to.

    Kind of a ridiculous point.

Why wouldn't the builds evolve? How were they supposed to know what the breaking point was? Just assume?

You have to build, test, upgrade, and keep going. At least they never quit and kept on going and continue raising the bar. Why criticize them for doing so?

The last time I checked, it was a rwd dyno that they had in their shop. One of their competitors does the same thing and they get defensive real quick if you make any mention of an awd dyno...happened to me the last I asked for an estimate of how much less power would it be on one which I thought was a fair/obvious question. And they most likely use mph as a strategy not to show what their engines rev to...this market is very secretive with those kind of details.

This is all likely right on.

Remember when Heffner posted a higher trap and the next day UGR took the record right back? They don't like to give an inch.

Yeah, that was hilarious cause they also claimed to have an even faster run but produced no time slip or video.

Definitely, I guess when you're dropping that much money. You're probably too busy making more of it on the other side than to even worry about what information the products have LOL.

Why not? It's just starting to spool. That isn't off idle though likely a bit further up but wish we had the RPM graph to know exactly what is where.

Criticize them? I applaud them for what they did not criticized them.

ANd to answer this question : ''How were they supposed to know what the breaking point was? Just assume?''

They should have tested the limits on their own project car not had customers breaking transmissions down before solving the issue. That is the only thing that bothered me about them and the trans is not something small to go out it is quite an expensive issue.

You have to learn the breaking point by pushing it. You're points are ridiculous IMO and critical of the best on the platform.

They are making 1831 wheel horsepower. Your comments are invalid by default.
