Your issues are related from the aftermarket though.

nope not just the aftermarket...the intercooler bricks were caved in from high boost on the LS9 blower and are a known GM defect now. so those are defective from the factory...and come to find out the LSA ones are starting to cave as well

The defect isn't supercharging as much as General Motors then.

This could well be one the best all round performance options with RWD on the market. Provided it's got the claimed HP by the OP. Odds are very much in favor of it and this would murder the Viper, GT500, Z/28, anything with an M badge and most AMG's. I would like to see this vs the new GT3 and Turbo S.

This is going to be a match for the GT2. The GT3 will get obliterated as that relatively small six cylinder just won't hang.

Why? Perfectly suited for a bigger displacement v8. BMW community I think is still in the mindset of supercharger's lack of performance on past I6's versus a properly sized turbo setup.

    Yep.

Plus turbo wheel tech applies to centris as well. There are some very mean blown cars out there.

My only issue would be when you're spending 90k on a car. You must really love Corvette to drop that kind of money. Don't get me wrong the new ZO7 will be a super car killer and a performance dream if it keeps or betters that Skid Pad Grip and keeps or betters everything that Z51 has done. Just 90k for a vette. I couldn't do it. Actually I wouldn't buy a vette period but that's just me.

But Kudos for GM bringing a serious contender to the table and just about destroying the competition!

Seriously, even at $90k the ZO6/7 is going to be an incredible buy, just as the Vette always has been. I would have never bought one before either, but the C7 overall has me curious. Now you've got a truly modern interior, even if it isn't up to exotic car standards. Styling can certainly polarize people... But I don't think people have to be ashamed to drive a Corvette anymore, especially since the stereotypical owners that many people wouldn't want to associate with are shunning the new design.

Based on pricing of the 991 turbo S, you can expect a GT2 to base close to $200k. Here's that level of performance for 1/2 the price or less after options. Stock-for-stock, would anyone dislike the Corvette badge enough to write a $100k check for something else with comparable performance? Maybe for someone that can write those checks all day long... For the same money I'd rather have a C7 Vette for the sports car and a 991 Carrera S to satisfy the Porsche itch.

@whoosh nails it… Bottom line is it will be one heck of a performance deal at that pricing. Other cars may be nicer or faster but short of the GTR few will blatantly faster.
