    2015 C7 Z06 getting a 650 horsepower supercharged V8 - LT4

So they will take the LT1 and boost it from the factory. No more LS7, bummer.

They are calling the new motor LT4.

I believe that's the rumor. No real surprise, regular corvetter is just behind the C6 Zo6 in performance, so makes sense new Z07 will be just behind the ZR1. I'm sure minus the brakes and a couple other things though.

A 650hp Z06/Z07? Amazing stuff. Probably would start near $80k - still a fantastic performance buy, especially going up against Viper at that power level.

No doubt about it. Stingray is already within a second of the Viper in the 1/4 mile. Add 200hp and the supporting mods... the 'vette should destroy the SRT.

If they could put a dual clutch in there they would have a GT2 fighter for half the price.

Isn't a GT500 like $55-60k and also makes 650 hp? I'm not a big Mustang fan but the power they make is impressive. Read an article where they put a GT500 against the Camaro with a supercharged Vette motor and the Mustang was over 100 hp and torque more on a dyno.

Yes but the GT500 is much heavier and won't handle as well. The C7 Z06 will beat it but it will do so at a significant price penalty.

Correct, but the Camaro ZL1 runs a detuned version of the C6 Corvette ZR1 motor. Had Chevy let the Camaro have access to the motor's full potential, it would have been a different story.

Compared to the C7 Corvette, the GT500 is only better in the 1/4 mile, and not by much at all. When it comes time to turn, the Ford falls flat.

And just for grins, here's the comparison vs. the E92 M3

    And R35 GT-R Track Edition

It's actually a whole different blower on the ZL1 and the CTSV compared to the ZR1. LSA vs LS9

Good point. I'd expect a detuned version in there similar to what happens now with the LSA. Maybe they'll call it LSB?

Not sure what they would call it but GM has to step up their game because MB, BMW and Audi all have. A 600+ HP V would be a nice start.
