This is what the 2014 Porsche Macan turbo V6 sounds like

The Porsche Macan will make its debut November 20th at the Los Angeles International Auto Show but Porsche decided to release a little teaser video of the Macan's engine sound. Now, the Macan will have two turbocharged V6 engines. One will be at 3.0 liters of displacement and the other will be at 3.6 liters. The 3.0 liter motor will likely be the same motor that sees duty in the Panamera S facelift although likely not in the same 420 horsepower state of tune.

Porsche does not state whether this motor is the 3.0 or 3.6 liter. It is important to note the 3.6 liter motor will be unique to the Macan and does not currently appear in any other Porsche model. Is it based on the 3.0 or a ground up design? Considering how Porsche is cost saving among models sharing the same block it likely is the 3.0 with increased bore and stroke. We will know more on November 20th but enjoy the sound of the new Porsche SUV.

This thing sounds amazing. We also don't know whether this clip is with/without Porsche Sports Exhaust options (assuming there will be such an option), but I think anyone getting an S/turbo level of trim will have PSE as well.

I'm about 95% certain to get one of these, based just on the specs, having driven and liked a Q5 in the past, and having driven and really liked a Cayenne S. Macan S well optioned, and then do the ECU upgrade to come up to Panamera S power levels. I can't wait for the reveal at the LA show.

I'm really, really liking how this is shaping up.

I can't believe how good it sounds either!

I have to say I disagree a bit. It has a more high pitched tone to it.
