    CONFIRMED: Next generation Nissan GT-R will be powered by a hybrid system

    Nissan’s boss of engineering, sales and marketing Andy Paler confirmed the next generation Nissan GT-R will be powered by a hybrid system. The name of the game is saving fuel and lowering emissions, but electric motors could also result in a healthy gain in power.

    Exactly. A 3-cylinder hybrid (cough,i8,cough) is definitely a fail. A hybrid system connected to a 500+hp engine is definitely not anything to get upset about provided the weight is managed properly. Gobs of instant torque and better fuel economy. What's not to like here?

    I'm not a fan of hybrids personally BUT the "Le Farrari" is a hybrid system . . . dont think thats much of a fail. I know Ferrari isnt Nissan BUT it is their halo car so we'll see what happens. Im more excited about the new NSX then anything else.
