Video of MRC Tuning's Garrett GTX4508R single turbo R8 4.2 with 750+ horsepower hitting 204.4 miles per hour

Those reading this site likely already know there are several turbo kit options out there for R8 4.2 V8's. MRC Tuning's option differs from what is on the market as instead of a twin setup they use a single Garrett GTX4508R turbocharger. A video showing the R8 running to speed was already posted back in July but this new video shows far more of the R8 in action with more details. The shot showing how the turbo is piped and routed being especially impressive.

Watch the very well edited video below.

Am I the only one missing the benefits of a big single on this motor?

Why would you not want a big single?

Wouldn't it make more sense to run 2 smaller turbos and have a broader power range rather than one laggier turbo on a relatively hi-revving v8.

It's give or take either way. A single can be efficient too with less piping and all the gas going to one turbo. A large single can have more up top for example.

It depends how you route and size.

wow really? Wonder about dependability, i know forcing mroe air into the engine via turbos at that hp level is the most reliable but still. Very impressive!

Well I think they are listing the horsepower at the crank. I don't think anyone has a solution for the fuel system issues on the 4.2 V8 yet.
