    APR Tuned: 11.6 @....

I've been on the fence about tuning my car for a few months. My biggest concerns were, reliability, driveability, and warranty. Unfortunately, I love speed and just could not leave my car stock especially after getting destroyed by the Unitronic car. Once I decided to move forward, I had another choice to make - Unitronic or APR. At this time GIAC still did not have anything to offer. After speaking with both Uni and APR, I decided to make the choice to go with APR. An Audi dealership flashed me and that went a long way in my book although they didn't guarentee anything about retaining my warranty in the event something catastrophic happened. APR also has a 30 day return policy if I was not satisfied.
Last week I dropped my car off and picked it up the next day. Upon initial thoughts, the car felt completely stock and slow. I drove an hour and felt no immediate change. After thinking about it, I went and picked a map (93 oct) and drove again. Within a minute, I instantly felt all extra 100+hp and torque. I imagine the dealer must have defaulted to the stock map and that is why I did not feel a difference.
Fast forward to this weekend, and I decided to go to the track to see what it could do. My expectations were not high as I know sometimes tuners only post ideal conditions for results. I went with a buddy and told him on the way there that I would be happy just breaking in to the 11s. The weather wasn't ideal (71) and I had to just just over an hour to the track. I went immediately to tech and within 10 mins I was already lining up on the track. There was a guy in a s/c f-150 that told me he runs 12.0/116 so I was actually a little nervous about getting beat by a pickup truck.
Tree lights up, I rev up LC, and bam! Car launched flawlessly and I instantly saw the F-150 in my rearview. After crossing the finish line, I looked down and was at 122 mph which suprised me. Still, I did not expect to run better than maybe an 11.8 /116. My car stock only ran a best of 12.3 /110.8 (trapped a little on the low side).
I go to the gate and got my time slip and couldn't believe my eyes. I screamed WOOHOO prob loud enough for my wife to hear at home an hour away.

The car stock ran 12.3 at 111. I definitely wasn't expecting to run as quick as I did with the tune and an intake. Plus Island Dragway isn't known for being a very fast track. If it's cool this weekend I'm going to take a ride down to either Atco or E-town and run the race gas tune. Hoping for 11.5s

Whoops, definitely not as I just noticed the different drag strips on each side of the country.

I do have the stock slip and can provide it if you want.
My run was done on the 93 octane tune while the above was on the 100 octane. I plan on taking my car back to E-town this week and running the 100 oct tune so we'll see Click here to enlarge

This isn't my fastest stock run but I can't find that slip. Might be in my garage somewhere.
For comparison to the tuned slip though here you go

FYI, my time in the OP was with 93 octane tune. The girl's time that Sticky posted from Sac was with the 100 oct tune.

Going to Etown on Weds Oct 16th. Going to be a high of 64 that day and lows in the 40s. Perfect
Atco is only doable on the weekends for me because it's a little far. Anyone wants to go or meet up let me know.

Congrats man! Awesome time! I was leaning toward RS5 as my next purchase but this makes me think about it more LoL Such a simple mod and you deep into 11's already.

Thanks man. I genuinely love this car. After I first got it, I had buyers remorse for about a week because I thought I should have got an m5. After driving it even stock, I quickly got over it. I love everything about this car now especially with the tune. My biggest gripe, at first, was that it was underpowered compared to an M. With the tune, that is a non-issue. People are just scratching the surface as far as mods go as well. The audi s8/rs7 turbos are interchangeable for less than $5k in parts.
Can anyone recommend an aftermarket company who would be willing to develop stronger DSG parts? I know Sticky had bad luck with who he used. With the big increase in torque and 5k launches, I can see the tranny blowing up first.

As you know, take that car to a real track and you will be running low 11s at 120 plus Click here to enlarge I would personally skip etown and just hold of on an Atco day.

I know. I would be down for Atco in the near future. If any of you Jersey guys are going anytime soon, let me know. Would have to be a weekend since it's about 1:45 away from me

Any roll events in the tri-state area coming up? Car is obviously set up better for 1/4 mile but would still like to come out and play
