Misfires and back 3 plugs quite a bit blacker than front 3 [ plugs 3000 miles old]

Suggestions on a postcard please Click here to enlarge

Pulled the plugs after the misfires coming back up from the Med last month and the back 3 are noticeably blacker than the front 3.

Oxygen sensor maybe? Going to order some iridium plugs and see if that helps. Anything else to look at?

If you don't route the cables in their stock locations, it should be possible to swap the primary O2 sensors for testing.

The MSD80/MSD81 should never operate in open loop mode unless something is really wrong.

Took the car into my local indy after replacing the plugs and valve cover gasket. Still had misfires etc, any of you that know the issues I have had with this car will be suprised at the next bit. Indy was about to swap the bank 2 lamba sensor out and noticed that the lower boost pipe didnt look quite right.

All the freakin issues I have had with not making boost target, misfires etc all down to a pipe that wasnt quite seated properly!!!

Feel like such a dork now after spending god knows how much chasing a boost leak that was such a simple fix! Oh well we live and learn.

Glad you sorted it but I'd be going mental at the company that did the smoke test for you!
