    USP Motorsports hits a 9.80@148.85 1/4 mile in their Porsche 996 GT2

    Some very nice results here from USP Motorsports who hit the strip with their modified 996 GT2. The GT2 uses the same 3.6 liter flat-6 as the 996 turbo but with K24 turbos (like the X50 package) instead of K16's and also is manual only with rear wheel drive instead of all wheel drive. It's lighter and more powerful and with the GT1 racing block definitely a stout mod platform. The proof is in these quarter mile results which have USP Motorsports piloting the car into the 9's.

    What are the specs? Good question, USP Motorsports does not seem to be revealing them for whatever reason. What we can guess is that the turbos are upgraded as is the fuel system but not sure if the motor is built with forged internals or not. To hit 148.85 in the 1/4 mile it is definitely putting down some serious power, that much is certain.

    Find me one with the PDK that can handle that power and I'd be ALL over it. Sick ride. Would like to know the specs.

    Well you would have to get a 997TT if you want the PDK and convert to rear wheel drive. I don't know of any PDK's holding power for this kind of trap speed though.

    Exactly. I haven't read of any holding that kind of power either. I was just lost in the dream of squeezing out a slight faster run and a higher trap due to the quicker shifts.

    If only my pockets were that deep....

    Why can the gtr trans be upgraded to take 1700+ whp but the pdk can't be modified to hold anything close to it. They are both dual clutches .. skin JDM aftermarket FTW

    It's not that the PDK Can't it's that nobody has done it. It's not easy, ask me how I know.
