    APR claiming over 500 all wheel horsepower for Stage III 4.2 FSI V8 Eaton TVS1740 based supercharged kit - B7 RS4, B8 RS5, R8 V8

It has been five months since we last heard about the upcoming Eaton TVS1740 supercharger application for the 4.2 FSI based motors that are in the B7 RS4, B8 RS5, and R8 V8. This supercharger upgrade will also makes its way to the 3.0 TFSI based motors (B8 S4, etc.) eventually. APR is claiming that with this supercharger on the stock internals the B7 RS4 and B8 RS5 should be capable of over 500 horsepower at all four wheels which is definitely healthy power.

Not to mention that this being a positive displacement blower the torque impact will be at all RPM ranges making the cars much more fun to drive. Now it is just a waiting game for the pricing, release, and official numbers. We'll have to wait and see how far over 500 wheel horsepower APR reaches.

APR: "If our B7 RS4 supercharger system wasn't enough, get ready for the new TVS1740 unit, packing a massing increase in power over the already giant leap created with the TVS1320 stage 3 kit. Who's ready for brutal acceleration and unmatched reliability only APR can deliver. Expect over 500 all wheel horsepower!"

The RS5 should be fun with over 500 wheel plus dual clutch.

Good to hear, felt the performance numbers for the 1320kit were pretty poor. High 11s at 117ish?

But APR is good like that, always trying to strive to push out something better. Definitely will not be cheap though. Here's hoping they do a stage 3+ or 4 kit for built engines and 650+whp.

Would be awesome but haven't seen a built motor 4.2 FSI from them and they probably would run into fueling problems like the turbo cars do.

Be interesting to see how the RS4/RS5 & M3 respond to the same TVS1740 supercharger.

M3 will always make more power by virtue of being rear wheel drive.

Fair, but the Audi's will really shine from a dig with this between the near insta-boost from a PD blower & the DCT trans

i think the audi may make a bit more torque though. their 1320 torque numbers looked pretty good. then again I'm not 100% sure what the m3 makes torque wise on the 1740

It doesn't make more torque. The dyno numbers are much lower as it is sending the power to all four wheels. The M3 is just a more efficient design.

gotcha, just wasn't sure since I believe stock for stock base torque numbers favor the audi, but definitely can see the WTQ being different.

The base crank torque numbers maybe but in reality it's a large disparity favoring the M3.

is it? I'm really unfamiliar with the m3. i believe APR has the stock AWTQ at 285 for the rs5. Not sure what the m3 is. I know the audi has the benefit of the extra .2L, but surely m-series engines are generally unmatched.

not trying to argue -- just learning.

thanks Sticky -- not even a comparison. Is the AA kit using the 1320 or the 1740 (or other)?

    That's with the 1320.

Here's the closest I can get. A B7 RS4 with downpipes, high flow cats, tune, and cat back exhaust is the baseline and the other is the same thing but with gruppe M intake added:
