    Need advice on building a 500 hp NATURALLY ASPIRATED E64 645ci N62 V8

I have a 2005 645ci vert 4.4L, so far I have a ported throttle body, magnaflow exhaust, modified air box with an Afe dry flow filter, Afe throttle body spacer, RPI air scoop, and an ECU tune by OE tuning. I was considering headers, but I don't want to fail California emissions because I will loose my Cats. I know that so far I'm no where near my goal of 500 hp. I need help! Im sure someone out there has made it to 500 hp NA.

not in california you wont. too strict.

the N62 isnt going to make it without forced induction or nitrous.
head work would do a little help, but valvetronic would just kill the gains.
    have you dynoed it?

it would be cheaper (and more reliable in my opinion) of just finding a wrecked B7 alpina and doing an engine/trans swap.

then again, your kommifornia laws wouldn't allow you, unless you claimed a stock alpina N62 was installed, all emission devices worked, and an referee signed off on it.

i just did a BUNCH of work on an Alpina today. the supercharger alone is 13,000..... so break out your wallet.

Unless you're buying a F/I kit, the next best option might be even trying to find an E63 M6 or an S85 & SMG to transplant. You can easily hit mid-500 BHP (tune, pulley, intake) while remaining CA-emissions compliant (full catted exhaust) with some stuff from @evolve

Agreed. By that time, you might as well just buy an M6 convertible. It's done, its reinforced, it has the big brakes and suspension, and its gonna be cheaper.

Ok.... I really want more HP....I know by changing gear ratios will not increase HP but, performance gearing sells a 3.91 final drive with limited slip diff, what do you think on me running that mod? also im going to dyno my 6er next month...

    Moved to the N62 section.

You need boost, simply boost. 500 hp naturally aspirated is not even worth it and I don't even know if you can get there. I doubt it, would take way too much money.

Some more torque down low but I'm not a fan of short gears personally after trying them. I say go for boost...

Im aware that only one company makes superchargers for my 6er, I just dont want to spend that much money. I have been thinking of building a QUALITY turbo setup, but im worried about where can i get it tuned. Also i have already built turbo engines, the 6er is my baby and i really dont want to hack her up.

    Here's some sage advice.

"quality" "turbo" and "cheap" never all end up in the same sentence.

thats like the sign I have....

    "cheap, fast, correct. Pick two."

Honestly, an SC is just best. By the time you're done spending money trying to get to 500 naturally aspirated horses you will be kicking yourself for not just going SC to begin with.
