    VWBoost member patrick02 pushes his MKVI Jetta GLI to the next level, new world record - 554 wheel horsepower and 10.9@129.83 in the 1/4 mile

    These are some seriously eye opening numbers and congratulations is in order to VWBoost member patrick02 who continues to push his MKVI Jetta GLI equipped with a 2.0 TSI direct injected turbo four cylinder. He has set numerous records and just raised the bar even further. How does 554 wheel horsepower sound? And this is no dyno queen, the car turned a jaw dropping 10.997@129.83 in the 1/4 mile with a 1.704 60 foot. Not bad for a front wheel drive eh?

    As far as details @Patrick02 isn't sharing too much right now and is planning to take this further. He already improved from an 11.49@120.80 which was the record to now hitting 10's. What we know is that he is running a bigger turbo, USP Motorsports modified fuel system (high pressure and low pressure), and APR tuning. He also went back to his stock head.

    Nice write up sticky!

    perhaps in a few weeks you may have another write up. An Australian GTI TSI already has the Trap record of 130.66 and the previous WR ET of 11.43 with a 1.933 60'. He'll be getting smaller brakes and Slicks soon, so we may see a new ET record.

    Though to be fair to Patrick, Australia GTIs have a different HPFP (it's not laser welded closed like the N/A ones), which leads to easier modifications, which in turn leads to more potential to go fast.

    The Unitronic car you wrote up about a month or so back also has a new build completed with a larger turbo (it may be similar to what Patrick is running), he isn't much of a drag strip junkie but his dyno numbers may rival this.

    Yep, ET and WHP record.
    Patrick said he is going further I'm just not sure how much further he will go. Going back to the stock heads I found really interesting.
    This isn't too surprising. APR said that the stock heads flow really well and trying to modify them is more or less just burning money.

    just need to get past the fueling issues.

    With the Golf at least there is the option of the Golf R. No all wheel drive options for the Jetta I guess?

    The Unitronic tuned car is running same turbo as I am..that's JR. He still hasn't tuned or dyno the car yet, but has a nice setup.

    I've got a few things in the works...I'd like to run some better numbers when I get back from SOWO, and then just enjoy the car a bit! The day I went to the track this last Wednesday, I had not driven the car for over 2 months. And it was the first time driving it with the new setup. I never get to enjoy the car since it's always being worked on!

    Torque steer is somewhat nasty, like any other fwd, high hp car. It has its moments, but the Peloquin diff helps a lot.

    And no awd option Sticky. I wish! I'd be all over it.
