I had the opportunity to drive a comptech supercharged ap1. It had ssr comp h's, and some sort of suspension upgrade. It's was one of the best cars I've ever driven. It felt well balanced, and connected. I think it made around 300whp, I'm not exactly sure, but a felt that it was plenty of power for an hpde car.

I have a '00 AP1 with the SoS stage 1 supercharger. 270whp in Denver, so about 300 at sea level. Coil over suspension is a nice upgrade but the car never feels completely planted, even with 265 section rubber in back.

You can take the whole car apart with a 10, 13, and 17mm socket. My motor has 115k miles and still has great compression. Buy one cheap and strip it out for the track. I wouldn't trade an M3 of any generation for one though.

Yea I wouldn't ditch your m3 for a s2000... Great side toy or main project if you don't already have a high hp car IMHO

If you could keep both then go for it but i'd keep the m3 if I were you.

I wanted a s2k for a bit but then realized i literallly can't fit in it....being 6'4'' has its disadvantages sometimes...

Part of it may be my setup, which has never really been tuned/corner balanced. I need to get the car out to an empty parking lot and spin the $#@!er out so I know where the limit is. Found it pretty easily on stock rubber, but with the upgraded tires the limits are higher than I like to push on open roads.

having owned both, AP1-AP2...The AP1 is a more raw feel compared to AP2 which is "controlled" but somewhat raw feel out the box. I think the AP1 had more parts to it? No? been a while..lol but cant go wrong with either..its just a Go-Kart with a engine lol
