Ford - Shelby Raptor Truck debuts at NY Auto Show; 575 Horsepower

Shelby American takes the impressive Ford SVT Raptor and adds some Shelby Magic to create the ultimate muscle truck. By forcing air through a 2.9 liter supercharger mounted on the massive 6.2L V8 engine, and then out of the Shelby Borla exhaust system, Shelby American takes the stock 411 HP rating and kicks it up to 575 HP. A six-speed automatic transfers power to all four wheels and features a manual mode to give the driver complete gear selection control.

Equipped with 35-inch Goodrich All-Terrain tires and optional custom wheels, the Shelby Raptor stays connected to any ground it faces. The Off-Road mode calibrates the transmission, stability and traction control systems to operate in harmony under high-speed off-road situations. In addition, any of the three Shelby graphics packages (graphic package styling guide) will help set it apart from every other rig on the road.

The post-title package starts at $17,995, not including the base Raptor. A limited production of 100 Shelby Raptors will be built per model year and each will be numbered and documented with a unique Shelby CSM number and entered into the official Shelby Registry.

Not really impressive it's just an SC on the raptor along with wheels for a ton of money. No thanks.

No doubt you could do it much cheaper modifying it yourself, it would be fun however to give the X5M & X6M's of the world a scare in the freeway wars.

Even with this SC it won't run with a stock X5M on the freeway. Not even close actually.

No, not run with, no way...I guess by "give it a scare" I meant the SC'd Raptor could stay closer than a normal pickup in a roll race. Not that X5 & X6M drivers are out looking for pickups to race...

I hear what you are saying it will make it faster but honestly this thing will get trounced either way. It would need in the 700 range to run with an X5M I would guess.

So sick of seeing the Shelby name/brand being put on just about everything.

Talk about a ridiculous markup! I guess there's a market for those that need the "name". I'm sure it's a blast to drive though.. I always have fun beating on my cousin's 2012. Click here to enlarge

Just buy an appropriately sized KB/Eaton/Roots blower & tune it yourself for ~1/3 the price. Chances are you'll end up with more HP & a better power-curve

I still don't get why they don't. I love the lightning, think it's so badass. Same with all performance street trucks.

The lightning is still cool as hell just dated now.
