    SRT Viper TA Strikes Back!

Back in January, the Corvette ZR1 handed the Viper GTS its ass at Laguna Seca, turning a lap more than 2 seconds faster than the Viper in the hands of Motor Trend test driver Randy Pobst. Here's the thread with that video:

SRT CEO Ralph Gilles was not happy about this at all, and put his guys to work on the TA version of the Viper. Here we can see the improvements made, with SRT now taking the top spot for production cars at Laguna Seca.

Apparently Randy Pobst just isn't strong in the Viper which is something a Chrysler rep said...

Seems like they did some cosmetic updates, a little aero, and then calibrated the electronic dampers to suit his preference for a softer setup. I wish they would have put PS Cups on the Viper to remove tire differences from the equation, but I suppose SRT isn't able to say no to Pirelli with that whole Fiat ownership thing now. Safe to say the PS Cup time would be somewhere between the time on the Pirellis and the time for slicks.

Still the Corvette is old news. The Viper should kill it, being that it is a lot newer. Guess their team is just not as good as the Corvette development team.

So they made it less sloppy to drive.

Shouldn't the stock car come like that? Why do you have to pay for a special package?

This is ridiculous. The previous gen ACR Viper has been matched by what exactly?

It's just a more aggressive package. They can get more aggressive than this too...
